The Mavic Rush Shoe is very clearly related to its top of the line XC shoe, the Fury, but is separated by a couple hundred bucks, and a bit more focus on long-haul comfort. In place of the ultra-stiff unidirectional carbon fiber sole of the fury, you'll find a glass fiber sole on the Rush. That's not to say that this is a flexy shoe, though, quite the opposite. It's stiff enough that you won't feel like you've been standing on metal tubes all day, but compliant enough that your feet get to move a little more naturally, which reduces muscle fatigue. The Rush closes with a ratcheting buckle and two Velcro straps, in place of the more-complex but lighter system found on the Fury. It's compatible with toe spikes, and the insole's been treated with an antibacterial finish to keep the shoes smelling a little fresher.
