Elite Survival Systems 1.75" COBRA® Rigger's Belt with D Ring Buckle

Seems like a rugged, quality belt. For my battle belt, the wider 1.75" size is perfect. The buckle is BIG. I would not recommend this as an EDC belt unless you have an extreme loadout. I would rather use the Blue Alpha Gear hybrid for EDC since you can thread that through normal belt loops.Just to be clear, don't let my pro's and con's distract you. I'm hypercritical. I would buy this belt again and again. Good value.Before buying, be sure that you understand that the rigger's D sticks out and could scratch your carbine (or gear) during transitions.Pros: Feels strong af. Authentic Cobra buckle. Low profile buttons require intentional release. It does not open under load. Positive "click" is very satisfying. Great stitching throughout. Color looks good. Except for a small section that is soft, the belt is stiff.Cons: The cut on the Velcro adjustment tail is a bit rough; the melt could have been done better IMO. I believe the stitching causes some wavy wrinkles in the Velcro area, but it's not a huge deal. The entire belt is not stiff; it is soft between the Velcro area by the male buckle. The part that was not stiff made it harder to thread the whole thing through my battle belt, but that is a one time thing for me. The rigging loop is a natural steel color which may reflect light and it seems to have a cut inside the loop that might abrade rope. Not sure why that cut is there, but the picture of all four colors stacked shows the cut. Tan buckle did have a couple paint dings, but I'm not terribly bothered by it. This thing is going to get used and abused.

This is the second belt that I have purchased from them. Their sizing is accurate; though I assumed I’d need a larger size, which turned out to be too large. So I went from a large to a medium and it fits properly. So buy your normal size and it will be accurate. I will give them their credits. This belt is too rugged and I have total confidence that it won’t let me down. The quick snap is truly as good as they claim as when it’s together; it’s difficult to disconnect it. I use full body harnesses at work and those easily disconnect. I feel safer with this belt. What I do need to complain about is that the belt is way to wide. I wear military style pants with 2” belt loops and the belt barely gets through. Neither buckle will fit through a 2” belt loop. So, you have to completely disassemble the smaller buckle from the belt in order to feed the belt through before you can reassemble it. I literally spent half an hour tonight preparing my pants for work tomorrow. I had to keep readjusting the belt; and sweating profusely to force the buckles together. If you adjust it so it’s easy to snap together; it will be too loose to hold up your pants. They have the safety and dependability covered; but they need to do a lot of R&D to make it user friendly. Will I buy a third or fourth belt? Definitely, as it will save my life when I need it. Would I recommend it to the average Joe?No way! It takes tenacity to wear this belt daily. It will save your life; but trying to get it adjusted just right so you can wear it will kill you.

This thing is freakin heavy duty. The material is basically like two seat belts sewn together. The hardware is very solid, and when I click it in, It feels like what I imagine a seatbelt for the pilot seat of a Neo Zeon Mobil Suit Sazabi would be (look up the reference). I purchased a Small, and I wear a 32 for Levis jeans, and its non-beltable, but usually wear a belt to make it snug. I purchased a small, and using a soft tape measure, the minimum size this can be is 31Inches, due to the fact that the male buckle cannot take in the belt from the point of where the double layer is. The maximum this belt can go, while having all the hook and loop make contact, is 34 inches. you can get another inch but you would be using only 3" of the full 6" of hook material on the male end of the belt, which would change its properties for strength. Not sure if any other reviews have mentioned this, but keep in mind, for someone who has a 31-32" waist, the part that you pull from the male end to tighten that has the hook material to attach to the loop material on the belt, once tightened, will be 3 layers of the material on the male end (your right side, if you are wearing the belt the way it is shown on the picture, with the D-ring on your left. This means your right side from the buckle going to your rear will have three layers of material for 12" from the buckle. Just thought this might be helpful for someone somewhere. See attached photos, to understand why a small can only get down to a 31". In the second picture, it shows that the buckle cannot accept any more belt because of where the other layer of belt is sewn in. The first photo is an attempt to get a different angle for sizing.

Used in conjunction with Elite Survival Systems Sidewinder MOLLE Battle Belt.I was very pleasantly surprised by the rigidity and reliability of the belt - what is needed for the army. Everything is great, no issues.

The belt got a tough, rugged look, kinda cool. There's just not much room for adjustment. I'm wondering if there a way that I can tight it pass the velcro fastening patch.

Probably the best belt i will ever own. Looks, feels and acts as a high quality product. Looking forward to use it in years to come.

Der Gürtel der Firma eLITE wirkt hochwertig verarbeitet und äußerst robust. Die Cobra- Schnalle der Firma Austrialpin funktioniert gewohnt hervorragend. Das Gürtelende wird mit Klettverschluss am Gürtel befestigt. Der Klett hält gut.Hergestellt wird der Gürtel in den USAEr ist relativ steif, sodass er problemlos mehrere Taschen und auch Holster mit Kurzwaffen tragen kann, ohne dass er wegknickt.Da in der Beschreibung keine Größenangaben hinterlegt sind, kann ich für die Gürtelgröße M folgende Maße sagen:Kleinstmöglicher Umfang: knapp 94 cmGrößtmöglicher Umfang: 110 cmAuf dem Etikett, welches am gelieferten Gürtel hängt, steht von 32“ bis 38“. Meinem Empfinden nach eher 33“ bis 38“.Mir hat er leider nicht gepasst und ich musste ihn wieder zurückschicken.Der Gürtel lässt sich problemlos in die Gürtelschlaufen von Hosen der Marke 5.11 einschlaufen. Zum Einschlaufen muss man am verstellbaren Teilstück des Gürtels die Schnalle ausfädeln, dann den Gürtel durch die Gürtelschlaufen an der Hose einschlaufen und zum Schluss die Schnalle wieder auf den Gürtel schieben. Größe regulieren und das überstehende Gürtelende per Klett befestigen.Die Abbildung passt leider auch nicht mit dem gelieferten Gürtel überein. Auf dem Bild von Amazon ist die Austrialpin Cobra- Schnalle schwarz, beim gelieferten Gürtel Coyote Braun. Mir persönlich gefällt die Schnalle nicht in dieser Farbe. Die Farbe lässt die Schnalle irgendwie „billig“ aussehen.Das Firmenlogo ist auf dem Bild bei Amazon außen am Gürtel aufgenäht, bei dem gelieferten Gürtel ist das Logo innen angenäht. Stört mich nicht, wollte ich nur erwähnt haben.Die aufgerufenen 116 € finde ich für einen Gürtel von der Stange deutlich zu teuer. Ich habe ihn für 74€ gekauft. Die 74€ sind „Ok“.Qualität und Funktion des Gürtels sind sehr gut. Dafür gibt es von mir 5 Sterne und eine Kaufempfehlung. (Preise beobachten, nicht für 116 € kaufen!)Für die fehlende Größenangabe und den falschen Bildern von Amazon vergebe ich jedoch nur 3 Sterne.Als kleinen Tipp: Falls Sie auf der Suche nach einem besonderen Gürtel (Bauart wie dieser mit Cobra- Schnalle) kann ich die Firma Gürtel Extreme empfehlen. Dort kann man sich seinen Wunschgürtel zusammenstellen lassen und dieser wird dann Handgefertigt in Deutschland. Kosten sind ähnlich.(über eine Nützlich- Bewertung würde ich mich freuen; Danke!)

It seems ESS can't get their sizing correct. I contacted Amazon CS to have the issue resolved and they would NOT send me a SMALL as a replacement and only offered a refund, to which I then had to go through the effort to repackage and mail it back.I normally wear a 33 inch waist and all my other riggers, gun, and uniform belts are sized commensurately. The MEDIUM was at least 3 inches oversized (the way the belt is constructed with the internal stiffener the belt will NOT allow the belt to close around your waist if you don't fit within the off-sized ranged).The materials used appear to be Mil-spec (the webbing, the thread, very high quality hook and loop, likely Velcro Brand). The main issue I had with the belt is that, if you intend to use this as a gun belt or need rigidity the polypropylene stiffener sewn into the belt (between the nylon webbing sandwiches it) is not very rigid. If you need a gun belt, there are better options (5.11 Operator/Instructor, Magpul Tejas,etc etc). The buckle is a rated AustriAlpin's Cobra, which is a high-end buckle made in Austria. Stands to mention, these full-sized Cobra buckles don't lend themselves well to donning and doffing. Most military uniform or work apparel will accommodate the belt width but not the buckle male end. Fishing the Velcro looped end of the belt through Cobra buckle will be something you'll get used to. AustriAlpin does make a version of the Cobra with a reduced sized male end to solve this issue (5.11 Maverick, a favourite of mine, and others use these buckles in some of their belts).The construction of the belt seemed to be okay until you looked closer and what appeared to be Mil-spec style sewing patterns (for strength, as you would see on rated and certified safety equipment like parachutes and harnesses) are poorly executed. It's obvious whoever they had sewing these at the table didn't bother to check the thread tension on their machine. Also, in the same vein, stitches that were supposed to be running parallel often did not. A large run of the webbing sandwich was sewn completely misaligned by 2-3 mm.At full price I AM NOT IMPRESSED. However, at less than full retail, you can easily modify or have a seamstress or tailor pop the stitching in the small area where the internal stiffener needs to be removed, cut an appropriate amount of the stiffener out, and resew the webbing.Quality control needs to be better. Which is disappointing as I've always liked ESS's products.If you need a riggers belt for ACTUAL rigging (as a back up safety device) the  Spec-Ops Brand Rigger's Belt, Olive Drab, Regular , is pretty good for the price (especially when it goes on sale).If you need a solid gun belt, or uniform belt the 5.11 Instructor (1.5" belt) and 5.11 Operator (1.75" belt),  5.11 Tactical Series Operator 1 3/4-Inch Belt, TDU Green, Medium , are fantastic. My oldest 5.11 Operator has been worn heavily in uniform and in civilian garb for 11 years non-stop, not a single popped stitch, not a single flaw. As other reviewers have mentioned, the sizing chart on these belts seem a bit inconsistent.For reference, I usually wear a N American size 30-32" pants (Levi's and other brands) along with 34" regular belts (using the middle hole) I suspect those are what's called "vanity" sizing in fashion, since actual tape measurements read about 34-35" waist (depending on how many buffets I've hit first LOL)At the time of purchase, the seller had the small size listed at a real good deal. Size charts suggested I'm closer to their medium in this belt, but several reviewers suggested to size down. Pleased to share that the small size I'd received fits me. Even offers a couple inches of play, should I lose or gain any girth. When adjusted to my size, the hook portion of the Velcro has a few inches exposed onto the nylon part. But I don't see this as a problem, since I understand that the sizing is held in place through friction. So the Velcro is more just to keep any excess tail end from flopping around.On an aesthetic note: the belt I'd received has a PVD like black finish on the D-ring, as opposed to the gloss silver, as seen in product some images. Also, if you wear the belt with the adjustable male end of the buckle on your right, and the D-ring female portion on your left, then you'll notice that the logo sewn on the inside of the belt will be upside down. The label on mine was also sewn in slightly crooked and not 100% level with the belt's edges. Just pointed those out as an FYI, as it may annoy anyone who's OCD or anal about the little details. But none of that would detract from the solid build or function of this belt, and I'm confident it'll work fine and outlast anything. Hope this helps.

Ich liebe die Cobra-Schnallen - sehen toll aus, sind bombenfest und sehr anwenderfreundlich. Ein Handgriff (natürlich ohne dass sie dabei unter Last stehen) und sie sind offen. Ich nutze die normale Cobra schon mehrfach, jeweils an einem fertigen Gürtel und mit selbstgefertigten leichteren Gürteln, bisher alle ohne den in die Schnalle integrierten D-Ring.Als ich einen Gürtel mit der neuen D-Ring-Variante suchte, bin ich auf den Gürtel von Elite gestoßen. Teuer ist er, aber wenn er auch als Sicherheitsgerät genutzt werden soll und im Amazon-Sonderangebot erworben wird, ist er seinen Preis wert.Schon beim Auspacken war ich beeindruckt. Das Teil ist auf Grund seiner Stabilität eher ein "leichter Kletter-ohne Sitz-gurt" (also einer ohne Beinschlaufen) als ein Hosengürtel. Er lässt sich recht problemlos in eine Jeans einfädeln. Das Markenschild ist innen, was ihn beim Tragen auch unauffälliger macht, nur die Schnalle macht ihn besonders. Nun war ich sehr aufgeregt, meinen neuen Begleiter auf Herz und Nieren zu testen:Erster Test: Praxis als Hosengürtel - problemlos, fest, bequem, in Größe M aber definitiv nicht kleiner einstellbar als Weite 32!Zweiter Test: Nutzen des D-Rings als Befestigung für eine Werkzeugfangleine bei Arbeiten in größeren Höhen (Leiter, Dach, Baum) - D-Ring super erreichbar, einfach nach vorne schwenken, Leine für Zange oder Akkuschrauber einhängen, fertig.Dritter Test: Arbeitsplatz- /Standplatzsicherung - mit Schraub-/ Twistlock-/ Magnetron -Karabiner oder Ankerstich super nutzbar, stabil und recht bequem beim Reinfallen-lassen, ähnlich stabiles Gefühl wie bei einem Sitzgurt oder einem Feuerwehrgürtel.Ultimativer Test: Hängen und Abseilen - jeweils in Verbindung mit Abseilachter und mit HMS-Karabiner getestet (Scheu, mich hineinfallen zu lassen hatte ich nicht, da ich bereits hohes Vertrauen in die mir bekannte Cobra habe, mit Höhe Erfahrung habe und mit dem stabilen Gürtel mit der D-Ring-Schnalle lässt sich sogar ein Gelandewagen ziehen (siehe Youtube!)) - wenn man fit und nicht zu schwer/ dick ist (bei mir sind das etwa 75-80 kg), tut das Hängen im Gürtel auch nicht weh. Die Gürtellaschen und der Hosenstoff sind beim Einsteigen in die Sicherung nicht gerissen (das ist wichtig, denn ein Gürtel hängt halt an der Hose und nicht darüber wie ein Klettergurt) - das Abseilen ist dann, wenn man das sicher kann, kein Problem.Im Anschluss bzw. regelmäßig nach Belastung wurde der Gürtel, die Schnalle und der eingebaute D-Ring auf Sicht kontrolliert: Kein Faden gerissen, nichts gedehnt oder ausgeleiert, die Schnalle und der Ring makellos.Perfekt. Da ich sowohl auf der Arbeit als auch privat oft Situationen erlebe, wo ein Klettergurt oder eine PSA zu umständlich oder nicht verfügbar ist, ist dieser Gürtel eine hervorragende Ergänzung für mein EDC-Equipment und auf das lege ich sehr viel Wert.Wichtiger Hinweis: Wenn man beruflich oder vertraglich verpflichtet ist eine PSA zu tragen, vor Allem wenn man sich mit Sicherungstechnik nicht wirklich auskennt, sollte man in letzter Konsequenz auch einen entsprechenden Gurt und Verbindungsmittel nutzen, da dieser Gürtel meiner Kenntnis nach leider keine offizielle Qualifizierung für Absturzsicherung hat (Schade, das Zeug dazu hat er!). Alle meine Tests hat der Elite allerdings bestanden. Sollte der nochmal im Angebot sein, werde ich mir noch einen zweiten (für eine zweite Hose) kaufen.Grüße A.K.
