The Art of Cuphead Limited Edition Hardcover – March 17, 2020

The book is undeniably gorgeous, with its cloth printed cover, and gilded pages. The slipcover is also beautifully made, with its golden debossing on the surface. The real question though is, is this book worth nearly 3 times the cost of the standard edition. The answer is yes and no.The PositivesLike I said, the book and slipcover make this. As this is one of my favorite games, and will have a prime place on my coffee table, this additional packaging effort makes it feel much more premium of an edition. Dark Horse does a great job at making the higher end books FEEL higher end. The choice to use cloth wrapped hardcover here is ingenious as it almost has the feel of a 1920’s schoolbook. To me that does the job perfectly. The entire collection feels old and retro. I’ll definitely be displaying this book inside of the slipcover.The NegativesSpeaking of the slipcover, I’m not exactly sure why they didn’t orient the opening on the slipcover to the other side. The way it’s oriented currently makes it so the book comes out so you’re looking at the back cover every time. Odd choice but not the worst possible outcome. Not too many other issues here, just not really sure what I’m going to do with these animation cells. They come in a very nice gold debossed hardcover booklet type case, and look cool, but I’m not sure how I would really display them outside of the case. And overall, the price is steep.Bottom LineIf you’re a huge fan of the game, and have some spare cash floating around for a premium edition of this book, then this is the one for you. If you’re are here for just the artwork, and aren’t worried how it’s presented, then stick with the standard edition.

Probably one of the best art books I own now as both a book collector, animation enthusiast ,and cuphead fan.First off I love the fact that the book looks and feels like an old fashion book, shows that the peeps wanted it to have an old fashion feel which I absolutely love.The in book goes in depth how they created and animated the characters, made the back grounds, boss concepts and so much more, which as a animator I was enthralled to learnThis limited edition version also comes with a small portfolio with cells of the title screen which is really neat as it shows how it’s layout.The bonus was that they talked a bit about the dlc bosses and ms chalice which wasa please take surpriseI highly recommend getting this book, whether it’s the standard or limited edition.

I have fallen in love with the look and gameplay of Cuphead. My daughter surprised me with this Limited Edition book. Incredible book and cell set. Over three hundred pages of history and art on high quality glossy pages. I also have the standard version. If this set is out of your price range but still want to get the book it is also incredible deal for just the book.

This book is AMAZING as a big toon fan myself to see all the design and progress that went into this book is outstanding. Definitly worth the purchase!!

El libro y el folder con los acetatos llegaron en perfectas condiciones y los amo por completo; pero lamentablemente el estuche llegó con un pequeño golpe en la esquina superior izquierda. Lo bueno es, que el daño da hacia la cara posterior del estuche y no hacia el frente.The book and the portafolio with acetate cels arrived in perfect condition and I love them completely, but sadly the slipcase arrived with a small bump in the upper left corner. The good news is that the damage is on the back of the slipcase and not on the front.
