BLACK+DECKER VF100 Replacement Filter for Cyclonic Action DustBusters

I wish I had read some of the other reviews and discovered that this product does NOT include the pre-filter which is in the picture. Instead, it contains only the paper filter. This isn't in itself a problem but it's definitely nice to know what you're buying!I haven't actually tried the filter out yet as I'm waiting to see if I can easily return it. I'll update when things get settled.I chose a 3-star rating because I haven't tested it but was unsatisfied with the false advertising (it forced me to give a star rating).***EDIT*** I tried the filter and it seems to work well in my Dustbuster 9.6V. I also contacted Amazon about the error with the picture and they gave me a partial refund so I ended up paying a competitive price for the filter. I was very pleased with their extremely quick turn-around time (< 24 hours) and their satisfactory solution (no need to mail it back, etc.). I have changed my rating to 5 stars because the filter seems to work well and my only remaining complaint is the misleading picture which isn't the product's fault.

My hand vac is an older one, but it still does a great job. I was surprised to find that there was a replacement filter for it. I have been cleaning the original filter for years and finally decided that a new one would be a good idea. All good now.

we have 2 old Dustbusters (both at least over 10 years old), so I have no idea what model they are (or if they even make them any more!), and I had no idea the filters are to be cleaned and changed! Was using one about a month ago when I was emptying it and decided to undo the area where the filter is -- oh my! Had 10 years of dust built up. So, although I cleaned it, I decided that maybe if I got a new filter, it would operate a little better (more suction, last longer, etc.)So glad I found these on here! Who knows if they'll help, but we don't need to buy new Dustbusters if changing the filter will suffice. Good price too.

It came very quickly, which was great, but it seems a tiny bit smaller than the original filter, in spite of being the product number replacement part that was listed in my use and care folder. Consequently I worry that it isn't protecting the motor as well as the original did.

The filter is of excellent quality and price. Fit our dustbuster as good as the original.P.S. I don't understand all the bad reviews for the product, since the description specifically mentions all the models that this is compatible with. If people are not capable of reading the descriptions properly, it is not the fault of the product now, is it?

While this filter says it is for Cyclonic Action Dustbusters, it does not fit the Black & Decker Pet Vac Cyclonic Dustbuster. YOu will need HVF91 replacement filter for that. This one looked like the right one, and since it says it is for the Cyclonic Action Dustbuster, I ordered it as well as the Hvf91 filter - which did NOT look like the right one, but apparently the replacement filter is different than original. it fits and works just fine. So....while the VF100 filter is probably just fine, be careful not to assume it will work with the Pet Vac.

I love using my dust buster and these filters do what they are meant to do, however, I feel like they really should be changed VERY often, making them pretty expensive. Also, there isn't any good way of removing the dust from the filter to be able to extend the life of it. Maybe it's because I am using it for fine dust (like after I sweep, I'll suck up the pile of dirt). So all in all, I was very happy to have found these filters on here (since I could not find them in the store), but I am not happy with the fact that they need to be changed often to be effective.

On impulse, I took apart our Dustbuster to clean it up. The filter was *way* past its prime--completely gunked up and not looking much better after some intensive cleaning/brushing. So I went on amazon, found the replacement part I needed, ordered it with amazon prime, and 2 days later put in the new filter. Amazing! I had forgotten how much power our Dustbuster actually had! Our Dustbuster is mainly used by the kids, about a once a week, since it's easier for them than the vacuum, and now it's so much quicker and more effective. I'm already using it more often as well!
