OUTSTANDING VALUE. Super bright, easily fits in pocket, handy clip.
Outstanding, and I mean that in every way. Incredibly bright with a 14500 Li-ion battery and it's VERY bright with a regular AA as well, personally I recommend the Nitecore NL147 14500 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery and the NITECORE i2 (New 2014 version) Intellicharge universal smart battery Charger both available here on amazon (links at the bottom of the review). The price for the battery and charger are completely offset by the savings you get on the AA batteries you would be purchasing. The flashlight itself is a perfect size, about 3 1/2 inches long, all aluminum, a good steel clip. Fits in a shirt pocket, personally I stick it in a front pocket in my jeans in the outside corner and it's like it's not even there, it weighs nothing. Think about this: If you could have a flashlight which was super bright, super small, very light, handy, and tough and have it on you 100 percent of the time for about ten dollars why wouldn't you?? You never know. Two weeks ago I was in a friends basement apartment, it was light outside but he doesn't get much light down there, and wouldn't you know we are all (4 of us) in a small room and the damn power went out. Pitch black... for about a second. Suddenly the light is back on.. mine. Nobody even knew I had the thing, hell I hardly knew I did until I needed it. Part of my EDC (every day carry).Simple on off button on the end cap which is slightly recessed so you won't accidentally turn it on. Partially depress the switch and you have a temporary light until you release, full press gets you on and off obviously. Super simple. I have two of these now, wasn't sure I was going to buy another but I dropped the first on off of a scaffold 3 stories up and it bounced off the concrete below. Aside from a bad nick in the thing no issues. Incredible for a ten dollar flashlight. If I could find a remote pressure switch to fit this I would totally use it as a weapon light, it's that tough. It has a beam which can be aimed by sliding the bezel rather than twisting it. Clip is tight but the light is easily plucked from the pocket when needed. With the 14500 battery this is also a defensive tool, imagine being approached by someone with obvious intentions at night and suddenly that person can NOT SEE because you simply pulled this outstanding tool from your pocket and aimed it in their face and switched it on. It is that bright, totally disorienting I am talking freakishly bright here folks. The flashlight with the Li-Ion battery and charger will run you total $31.78 and you will not have to repurchase a battery for years. YEARS. The charger is a smart charger and works for many types so that's a plus too. GET THIS LIGHT, and consider the other two items I suggest. If you just get the light, put a AA battery in it, turn it on, it's super bright. Imagine it about 4 times BRIGHTER with the Li-Ion. Beating that horse enough for you??If that's not enough information for you, I am here reviewing this because I'm planning on buying a THIRD one (and the battery).Follow the links below (or cut and paste not sure what works on these reviews) to get to the battery and charger I spoke about in this review.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LP76S58/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KBEJ6SC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

98% satisfied. Very good EDC flashlight, functions reliable, good battery life & built quality
I did not test this Coast HP1 for Long yet but it works with the battery I took out from another no brand EDC flashlight whose LED was flickering already (meaning battery is dying). No Name chinese flashlight (typically sold in bulk packages) are no match to this one. I ordered 3 and tried only one. The Switch is working reliably everytime - which was not the case of no brand flashlights. The floodlight is a wide round beam evenly spread and good for about 5 Yards and max up to 15 Yards were things can be still differentiated. Focus ligth reaches about 25 Yards. The built Quality is very good. Clip is way to stiff and it is for sure steel. It works but will chew your fabric up. Stippeling is aggressive and comfortable - just fine. I have a Feeling a battery will last Long but did not test it extensively. This is a light for EDC and not an rescue search light. It is way brighter than my no Name similar sized lights (dont buy any no Name or generic lights but buy instead this one even if you pay a bit more - it's worthed). It illuminates an area of about 20 Yards but specific small objects like snakes or other small dangerous critters can be detected only 5 Yards away with the flood light. However it illuminates well all surroundings so it's ideal for Walking on trails on night were you want a General area be illuminated. IMO the Focus mode could have been left out since the most usefull will be the flood light. The glass is conical and deeply recessed in the head of the flashlight (so one could use this as an hitting object in case of an attack. Dont why they did not make it with tactical serrations).Just buy this one instead of others and it will serve you as an General EDC light. Best Thing is you can use it with rechargeable AA batteries. I recommend this - dont buy any other expensive one since it is a waste of Money. Lumens they Claim seem to be true but IMO the half dead battery I put in gives about 100 lumens, still more light than other inxpensive no Name brands. General purpose EDC light good for 5 to 15 Yards.UPDATE 25.06.2019: Surprisingly Amazon allowed this Review. Lately Amazon has a tendency to deny any Review which is negative about the products. So expect to read only positive Reviews. That makes all Reviews untrustworthy. Any Review has to be considered a priori as censored, biased or fake by Amazon itself. Unfortunatelly Reviews are no Guidelines anymore whatsoever. All of my negative Reviews got erased for other products, so make your own conclusions...Otherwise the Coast HP1 has perforemed aceptable to date. It has a tendency to yellow light specially when focused and it's flood light is not as far reaching as the generic one I ordered before did (which by now failed it's Switch). I wished it would have a Little less floodlight and a bit more concentrated light. However it is very good for Close up inspections of 1 Yard or so, but much past 15 Yards one will not be able to Detail (like venom snakes).UPDATE 30.06.2019: Sometimes the Switch starts to be unresponsive when put on momentary on. When put solid on it worked however. It's a brandnew alkaline battery and when cold the Switch made flicker the flashlight when putting momentary on. Thats strange. The Focus throws the beam well 50 Yards of distance and it's Kind of an incandescent light like the old 4 D cell Maglites (incandescent) and is very nice. Up to 10 to 15 Yards one can see very distinguishable on flood light but not more. Unfortunatelly the Switch may be not as reliable as I thought since on the momentary on it gave already 3 times the hint to not light up reliably - it's sad since this could be very well the best EDC flashlight if they fix that Problem.UPDATE 13.07.2019: If the light does not turn on it's the battery. At a certain Point the battery is to empty (to less power) and the flashlight will not turn on. Just dead. Put an new battery in or newly recharged, and it will turn on. If the light does flicker slightly when pressing in the Switch, thats a sign the battery is dying. It withstood a drop from 1 Yard to concrete. So best EDC light I have and Coast does take care very nice of their customers. The light colour is yellowish, gets brighter on the edges but is a perfect rund circle. It is a Quality light (do yourself a favour and dont buy cheap chinese bulk no brand flashlights) which is reliable enough for EDC defensive use if you take in account the light is dead when the battery reaches a certain Level of Drainage. You may carry a spare battery. The battery lasts up to 1 week occasional use or about 30 minutes. The light dimms gradually with battery drain. The light bulb is a genuine Cree product according to YouTube Videos. I recommend fully this brand and model.

Bastante potência em um corpo pequeno ainda,se usa com uma bateria de litio modelo 14500
Excelente produto realmente é bem forte pro tamanho. A pontecia sobe bastante.

Our new go-to inspection light for our shop
After 3 tries trying to find decent sub $20 LED flashlights on Amazon to outfit all of the guys in out metal shop, we've finally settled on a winner! The other flashlights we had tried from lesser known brands were poorly built, had stupid strobe settings and really didn't impress with overall quality. I had read good reviews of Coast flashlights, and it's reassuring to know they're a real brand that sells their own flashlights, rather than the dozens of brands on Amazon all selling identical rebranded flashlights for drastically different prices. Coast also offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, which shows they stand behind what they sell. The reasons this flashlight one over the many other flashlights we tried were:-uses a single AA battery (we've had great success with AmazonBasics batteries, so maintaining the same battery was key)-all aluminum body is well built and has just the right heft to it-shows no signs of damage after a drop from 4 feet (light still functions properly, lens isn't cracked, lens still focuses)-has a simple on/off switch recessed into the tail (strobe functions are useless in our shop for inspecting wor)-focus function is handy, although we almost exclusively use it in spotlight function for inspection-throws a decent amount of light for inspection (a larger/brighter spotlight would be nice, and is a possibility with this flashlight if we switched to 14500 lithium , but those batteries are more expensive and don't last as long)-has a good tight spring clip for securing in pockets-is excellent value for money at $13 each (price sometimes drops to $10 each)

Best bang for your buck
This was recommended by a police officer and I have to say, it’s the best flashlight I’ve ever used. It’s so compact (fits in your hand) and lightweight. The light it projects is shocking,..you will love it! This one was a gift and the receipient was delighted and surprised by the performance!
