Perfect for cooking up cupped instant ramen or making tea
I got this with a gift card I got for Christmas because my yoga instructor has a teakettle very similar to this one she brought to class to make tea with after sessions were over and I thought it was the coolest thing because I'd somehow never seen an electric teakettle before that. All I knew about teakettles was that they were probably ceramic and that they sat on the stove. I'm 32 years old and I'm still a little leery of the stove because I always think I'm going to start a fire because I don't know which knobs turn on which burners and the clicking noise of the gas frightens me and makes me think that my house is going to explode every time I go to make grilled cheese or eggs so this thing is an absolute Godsend for overly anxious neurotic people like me.It has ONE switch. That's it. Just one switch. You press it down after filling the kettle up and it starts heating up the water and boils it very quickly, then switch clicks back into the up position. A small orange light indicates when it's turned on and the light goes out when the water is done boiling. I'd say it takes about five minutes to boil a full kettle, if even that. I'm a big fan of Maruchan Instant Ramen and Sissin Instant Ramen, you know the prepackaged kind that comes in styrofoam cups? For years I've been making those noodles wrong. I'd just open a packet up, pour regular room temperature water over it from the sink, then stick it in the microwave. Now with my Redmond electric kettle, I just heat up some water and then pour it over my cupped ramen and I have delicious ramen instantly! It's so easy and it tastes so much better than microwaving the whole ramen cup. This thing is also great for making tea. Again, for years I've been making tea wrong, I'd fill up a coffee mug with water from the sink, then stick it in the microwave for a minute and then put my tea bag in the microwaved water. I never was getting the full flavor of the tea available to me because of this because the water never got hot enough in the microwave. Now with the Redmond, I see the water turn very dark with tea when I drop my tea bag in it. Other than some sweetener, I drink my tea straight, without any milk. It's an excellent machine, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes hot tea and instant ramen. The machine is easy to use, great for the price and easy enough to clean. One thing I don't understand though is there's these little mesh filters that came with it and I have no idea where they go in the teapot or what they're for. I read the instruction manual that came with the kettle twice and it mentions these two mesh filters nowhere. I just put them in my utensils drawer because I don't know what to do with them, but if anyone does know what they're for, please leave a comment on this review and let me know because I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is they do. Other than that, the machine is perfect and exactly what I needed!

FAST boiling, great for everyday use
At first I did NOT like this tea kettle because it was unusually loud and I had no idea when it had completed boiling so I purchased another tea kettle that beeped when it had completed it's boil. I, however, find myself using this kettle far more frequently because it boils 2 to 3 minutes FASTER than my other kettle the same size. Those 2-3 minutes are sometimes what allows me to make my husband his tea before he goes off to work which is important to me. I do like to use my other tea kettle when boiling water for green and white teas because it has a temperature switch which this one does not. I really hope this tea kettle lasts a while. It's a gadget I have grown particularly fond of.

EASY PEEZY... JUST SET IT & FORGRT IT!
I never owned or invested in a electric water heater before & now finally happy I did. It was a bit tough trying to decide between glass or metal since there’s many options to choose from but based on many of the reviews it appeared the glass never lasted too long so that definitely helped in my decision for choosing stainless steel instead. Im a daily organic tea drinker & always heated them in my microwave for a instant fix. Until I suffered a reactivation of chronic EBV, read a book by Dr. kines that we should limit or completely eliminate the microwave usage due to toxic exposures. Yes I’m trying... this kettle holdS up to 1.7 liter of water which is a great size. I can easily drink 12 once cup of my fav tea 4x per day. Just set the round saucer base anywhere on a hard service countertop. Fill the kettle to desired waterLine & press plastic clip on switch down. That’s it! The heating time literally takes just 2-3 mins w 190° Hot temp w a automatic off switch Horray! Just set it & forget it... simple. What I also appreciate about this is that there’s no extra heat emanating from the kettle while being heated so it’s appropriate to use even during summertime when the kitchen is already warm. Just be careful not to touch any part of the metal service. My only complaint is I wished the plastic measuring waterline window was made out of glass instead. Hope it’s BPA free, otherwise I really like it. Therefore gave it a 4 star instead of 5. So if there’s anyone on the fence about getting one of these DONT WAIT just get it!

Love this Kettle!
During the past years' period of being 'home bound' more, I've started drinking warm tea and I purchased this kettle because of it. I love it! It does everything it promises. The only thing I would caution anyone about is filling it to the top mark and boiling water, it has a tendency to spit hot water out of spout and any opening, so be careful. I just learned don't fill all the way up, but I like the way the cord wraps inside the bottom if it's not in use or to shorten. And it does heat water quickly.

Beautiful Kettle
I purchased this kettle on December 26, 2019 to replace another brand purchased 2/26/2014. I sincerely hope that this one holds up as long as that one did. It is beautiful to look at and holds a lot of water. Delivery was very quick as I received it the next day. You will not be disappointed. I will provide updates as to its durability. It is now February 19, 2020 and the kettle is still holding up well. My only problem is that I am a senior with weak hands so could use something a bit smaller and not as heavy when filled.

Gets very hot, does everything we want it to do!
This is a great kettle- easy to use and gets very hot. It does everything it’s supposed to do. It is pretty loud (which I guess is expected with boiling something at a high heat). If you want one with different temperature options, this one doesn’t have that.. but you’ll definitely pay more for that feature. This is perfect for our needs.
