Fast and reliable kettle.
I bought this around 2 months ago to replace some cheap piece of plastic kettle that died after a couple of months of use. The Domus is an excellent kettle. It boils impressively quickly. The body of the kettle appears to be made of metal and should therefore be more durable than a plastic body kettle, though the body does obviously get very hot when boiled. The kettle element is also beneath the plate at the base of the body so there will never be any limescale build-up on the element. The kettle does seem to generate a fair amout of limescale though that's largely due to the armour-plate-hard water that I have. As the element isn't exposed limescale buildup is very easy to remove. The lid of the kettle is very easy to open and can comfortably be opened even just after the kettle has boiled. The spout design is also excellent and I've never had it dribble or leak water. Pouring is reliable and easily controllable. The Domus is far from the cheapest kettle but seems to be robust, reliable and very efficient. Highly recommended.

Lovely little kettle!
Great kettle, solid, beautifully finished. Boils quickly, not particularly quiet but does the job. Stainless steel interior so no nasty plastic taste when first used.Do note -1.5l - does not hold 4 mugs of water, only 4 cups - the only downside to this kettle. But I love it!

Cheeky little kettle that does the job perfectly
I bought this kettle to replace one that had failed (after more than 10 years use) and am very pleased with it. I dont look at my kettle for long periods of time but it is on show and visible so I like that this looks good and as kettles go has a sort of cheeky personality. It is very neat and compact but perfectly adequate (unless you need vast quantities of boiled water). It boils quickly - I would not say it was particularly quiet but the noise is brief and its efficient - no spillages, leaks, easy to fill and over all just gets on with the job. Would def reccomend.

Good but expensive. Lead too short by 15cm.
Well made and quiet kettle. Lead too short to plug into cooker control; which is where I prefer to have it. Another few inches and it would have been fine. There is room for a longer cord in the storage base without compromising safety.Grey finish looks good but slightly shinier than the photos. Stainless steel interior so therefore no plastic taste in the water. Lots of chrome plated plastic on the outside surfaces though. Cost is on the high side but worthwhile if it lasts a few years.

Great kettle and toaster
Got a kettle and matching toaster Dualit, very sleek looking and the kettle boils very quickly. The toaster is great as it has various settings for browning, frozen and bagels/croissants.Had a toaster before so can use the old rack as well.Would definitely recommend and they’re British made. Not the cheapest but last so you get your money’s worth.

does what it says on the tin
This boils water.A full kettle will boil in 3 min 45 seconds, but as this is the dead of winter and the water starts out colder, the process should be faster in the warmer months. It seems much quieter than my old kettle, a Breville stainless steel model. I like the chunky appearance and am now getting used to the lid. It is not a pop-open lid with a push-button release (though that would have been nice); rather, there is a large round button squarely on top of the lid and you press down on the part nearer the handle while simultaneously lifting up the part nearer the spout to release the hinged lid. Repeat the process to close the lid. Someone here mentioned that that is likely a safety feature and that makes sense if you have small children in the house. The parts are very plasticky. So much so, in fact, that both the kettle itself and the base are very skatey on the granite counter. Also, despite its plastic nature the outside of the kettle does get very hot. It won't be going back, but it does seem a bit pricey for what it is, even allowing for the Dualit branding.

Very fast and efficient kettle
This kettle is considerably smaller than my previous 1.5 kettle and takes up much less space on the counter, which is a bonus in my small kitchen. The water level indicator is very clear and easy to read. Best of all, the mechanism for opening the top is brilliant. No sticky (caused by limescale build up) button to press here, this has a good solid action and feels more like releasing a spring and is so easy to use. I think this kettle is well worth the extra money. I am very happy and impressed with the high quality.

So far, am loving this kettle!
I say so far because i loved my previous 2 kettles (morphy richards prism) and neither of them lasted 2yrs. Im really hoping this one does me a good 15 or 20 yrs, like my first morphy richards did. What is going on with kettles these days that they arent built to last?Anyway, despite the price i love everything about this kettle. It is so good looking, it boils fast and perfectly. I love that you can see the water boiling inside the kettle!I love the lid is so easy to flip back and open. This might be the first kettle that i dont fill via the spout. In fact, so far, i love everything about this kettle. Oh, and it looks compact but has the fill volume of any other kettle. It says 6 cups but i have le creuset mugs and id say 5 of those.I will edit the review once this kettle reaches the end of its life. Assume it is still going well until then.
