CrosmanFast Flight LF1754 Lead-Free .177-Caliber Pointed Pellets (150-Count)

I run these thru a Sig rattler canebreak. Sometimes I use the 90gram carts and sometimes 25 gram with an adapter. Either one, so long as you are not on a cold, cold day penetrate like nothing I have seen before. I set up a target in the yard made up from 20 brand new home depot cardboard boxes taped along the sides tightly to a 2x2 piece of 3/4 ply. that is 40 layers of bran new cardboard boxing. Last night I decided to try a few of my more exotic pellets on it. I fire from a fixed position, 50 plus feet away. I threw everything at this target. I have an Umerex HDX68 that I removed ALL the governors from. That thing when firing aluminium .68 balls penetrate about 15-20 layers in depending on the cart I use which is a 25gram with adapters or a 90 gram. The hard nylon fly faster. These are no longer "less than lethal" I was surprised at the force I was getting. The previous night I nailed three rats in a jasmine vine from about 50 feet yet again with my sig loaded with Gammo Lethal's. All three rats dead and two of the slammed into the fence before they dropped... that shocked me. Then I decided to run a test with the pellets on my box trap target. I avoided the torn up areas and shot into virgin cardboard using the Gammo Lethals, Stoeger magnums, Crossman Gold Flights, Stoeger x-power maximum penetrator copper, and these nutty looking tiny and light crossman fast flights... everything penetrated past 20 layers, that's ten boxes. The crossman gold flights were hard to load into the belts but they went up to the last three or four boxes. The Gammo Lethals hit HARD and got almost as far as the Golds. The fast flights????!!!! They would leave the sabot behind and continue to travel... I found them completely through 40 layers of cardboard... that's twenty brand new boxes and embedded into the plywood. Just to further check them I fired them at a steel storage cabinet in my garage... 16 gauge steel, from about 25 feet... it easily penetrated the door and almost the back wall. I put one clean through my redwood fence. my ultimate challenge was a polyethylene cutting board... ehhhh... don't try that. Nothing penetrated and they all ricochet back straight at me. I'm not sure I could penetrate that one with a .380 let alone a .177 CO2 pellet. I've yet to put it though my break barrel which will get up to 1200 FPS. The Sig maxes out at 700 FPS. Can you imagine dieseling one of those through the break barrel?!?! That would be wicked hard. I am buyijg more and thats what I will use for the rats. They are alloy so they don't deform and mushroom but the force they impart is going to knock those roof rats right off the fence.

Badass, not soft lead

I bought these sabot Crosman Fast Flight LF1754 Lead-Free .177-Caliber Pointed Pellets because of their advertised penetrating power. I just performed a test of penetration and accuracy and here are my results.I'm using a Gamo Swarm Whisper .177 caliber 10-shot break barrel air rifle. I'm comparing these pellets to Gamo's Competition pellets. Competition pellets aren't that great for penetration, but they are for accuracy.The Crosman sabot pellets fit snugly in the Swarm's 10-shot magazines. I was shooting 1" bullseyes in my basement at about 40 feet. The backstop was two pieces of 3/8" plywood screwed together.The first thing I noticed is the sighting is quite different between these two pellets. I had the rifle sighted for the lead pellets and the sabot pellets sighted low by 1" and left by 2.5". The sabot pellets performed and grouped as well as the lead pellets once the rifle was sighted for them.The Crosman projectile didn't deform at all through plywood and they easily made it halfway into the second layer of 3/8" plywood.I'm happy with the results and estimate that this round should be lethal for criters up to raccoons and opossums.I took off one star due to sighting issues. Most Gamo lead pellets (what I use) perform consistently from type to type in my rifle. I rarely have to change the scope's setting. Now it's not possible to switch magazines of different pellets, lead to sabot, without either a physical scope adjustment or mental gymnastics remembering the off-center sight picture for lead pellets.All-in-all, I recommend these sabots if you want more penetration.

I have an air rifle that takes the .177 size. I live in the middle of an urban area on 8 acres and cannot use my shotgun or handgun to keep some of the wildlife in check. We have a new coyote on our property that is starting to feel emboldened. So I needed something effective. I tried one of these out on a predatory, sickly raccoon that I have been attempting to exterminate. Waited for 4 hours in the middle of the night laying on my porch in 96 degree weather for him to make himself known. And I dropped him with 1 shot through the head with one of these pointed pellets. I adore wildlife, but sometimes the circumstances call for control. Now - I am hoping to exterminate the coyote if/when I see him.And yes - this is all within the regulatory body under which I live and they are aware of my actions.If I had one miniscule complaint it would be the top of the packaging of this item (the clear top) is not actually a clear fixed top. It is a piece of circular clear plastic inserted into the round metal rim of the top. When I take the top off to retrieve a pellet, the clear insert almost always falls out - thereby potentially spilling all of the pellets. I have since glued the circular plastic clear piece to the metal rim of the top to prevent same from occurring again. Despite this temporary annoyance - I still highly recommend this product and stand by the 5 star review.UPDATE 10/8/2024: Don’t know if the company read my review, but received 2 pellet packages today and both had the clear plastic insert already glued to the metal rim. Now the product and the product container is perfection for my use.
