Very strong flush . When you start use quarter of a spoon and better you have some food in your stomach or you will feel burn in your stomach . More water you drink and more the effect you will feel .

When I take other capsule/tablet from, I have to take 500mg to flushWith this powder I just have to take 250mg fro the same flush.Very effective with half the quantity. Definitely going to keep buying this brand/form.Update Dec 2 2024-I started taking this niacin starting around sep 13 2024 a pinch 3 times a day.By end of 2 weeks I had raised my dose to 1gm 3 times a day i.e after breakfast lunch and dinner.I got my cholesterol test on 13th Nov .I was so happy! to see my HDL raised above 50 and my triglycerides went down to 169 from 497.Please please please DO NOT EVER CHANGE THIS PRODUCT or texture. The soft powdery texture works perfectly even if it doesn't dissolve fully, as it is easy to swallow the bits that don't dissolve.

In the past, I had been using Slo Niacin, which contains the nicotinic acid, which is the form that affects the lipid panel, significantly increases the good HDL, while lowering triglycerides, and LDL. The Slo Niacin was out of stock at Costco, so I did a search for nicotinic acid, and I came across this and decided to take a chance and order it. To my surprise, it arrived a day early by priority mail, which they paid for! This is a large amount for a much lower price, and it is pure, proved by my first half-gram, which gave me a major flush in less than two minutes. Moreover, it comes from Lonaz in Switzerland, not China, India, or any other questionable source that could contain dangerous toxins

I got the bulk supplement of Niacin (Nicotinic acid) since I wanted to start at a low dose and work my up to get used to the flush. Using a 1/16 teaspoon measure I got on Amazon, I can measure out a level spoon full (=125 mg) and dissolve it in filtered water. It does not dissolve super easily, but with stirring and crushing the little clumps 90%+ goes into solution. The taste is fine - a little tart, which is nice. At this initial dose, the flush happens within 5 min, and continues for about 15 min max (so far). As I get used to it, I can go up to 250 mg (1/8 teaspoon), and 500 mg (1/4 teaspoon) and up from there (1/2 teaspoon is 1000mg. I started with the 100 g bag, and transferred a few grams into a small supplement bottle I had just finished up so that it was easier to measure out. The bag of niacin has a zip lock top and is aluminized, so I am keeping it out in the garage, sealed up, where it is cooler this time of year (Dec). I won't know about its effectiveness for lowering cholesterol until my next blood test in a few months.
