RUN TESTS
Average latency, decent speed, overall not a bad set of RAM to get if you are looking for RGB that will work with your motherboard's own lighting ecosystem rather than having to download a proprietary one. Upgraded me from 16GB to 32GB just as I had anticipated, even though I purchased four as the DDR4 I had in my system was a discontinued set- replaced them for consistency's sake. Crucial's name in RAM is reliable enough, a prime reason I chose these guys over the G.Skill Trident Z counterparts.Overall nothing too unique about this RAM, so I will leave a tip: Run memory tests IMMEDIATELY. Any hardware change, or even just a new build entirely, can go from being a quick upgrade to a nightmare if you do not run the hardware through its paces before the exchange period expires. Especially if you did as I did and went for a complete set of four sticks. Any one of them could have a single fault out of the factory that may take months to show- corrupting your data right under your nose without you knowing. I work as a computer technician, I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone not do this and be left with a headache later because they are stuck dealing with the manufacturer's warranty rather than doing an exchange that would have otherwise taken a day or two of waiting at most. Sometimes bad RAM is obvious. Others it is not. Do yourself a favor and make sure the hardware you are putting in your system is up to the task.

Good memory
I have been building computers for 20+ years, install was easy. The splash of color in my case is nice, but I am more concerned with performance, and this memory did not let me down. Just as fast as expected, and uses zmp profile straight out of the box.

Incompatible with motherboard RGB
I bought this ram for 3 reasons, it was not that much more than non-RGB, it was fast with nothing more than selecting XMP in the BIOS, and they do look great as they fill all four slots. The bad? I have a motherboard with RGB support but these RAM do not work any motherboard RGB system directly. You have to use the MOD software in addition to the motherboard software, so at the hardware level there is no interoperability with any of the RGB motherboard systesm. They were only modestly more than the Gigabyte memory but with twice the capacity. Somehow I doubt even the official Gigabyte memory would sync with the motherboard hardware either. I read and watched many reviews, but no one tried really went in to detail whether these worked directly with the RGB ON THE MOTHERBOARD.When I run Windows I don't install all that crap ware anymore, and that is the big let down here. I took a star off because of it. I do acknowledge this is a major problem with PC vendors, ticky tacky software to make hardware work. Why do I need motherboard headers for RGB if nothing uses them? This is a general critique of the industry, I've noticed that everything seems to use the USB headers and proprietary software. So a fully kitted system is going to need a funky USB hub and a task tray of half dozen running apps?If for some reason Ballistix reads this, go back to having the ram default to showing memory activity like the original, had that been the default I wold hav put 5 stars and been very happy. White? Just plain white? Doesn't even pulse, just sits there imitating a flashlight. The sheer laziness and lack of imagination are just breathtaking. The original was fantastic because it looked cool and would instantly tell you if the PC was locked up. Cool and useful. As I said earlier you just change one setting in the BIOS and they run at rated speed! The heat sinks look great and are not ridiculously oversized. There is a lot to like here, just disappointing if you don't happen to run Windows as your main OS or don't like annoying pieces of software in the task tray. Software is cheap, in many ways, and that is what cheapens these is the software.

GREAT COLOR, BETTER PERFORMANCE
EXPANDING MY CAPACITY AND THESE SEEMS TO BEING RUNNING EXTREMELY WELL IN XMP MODE AND THE COLOR CONTROL IS GREAT. BEEN USING BALLISTIX TRACER SERIES FOR 10 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A STICK DIE....

Really Wanted to Use These with Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7, however...
Really was hoping these would work out with my Gigabyte motherboard but for what ever reason they seem to be incompatible. The first pair order were giving random Windows 10 memory errors. Amazon was terrific in replacing these in a fast and friendly manner. The second set also gave random memory errors.Motherboards was flashed to the latest F7 bios and would report the memory as correct. Did automatic detection of modules and manual. No overclocking was utilized with the installation. However when testing with third party software for errors it was obvious that the memory was either bad or incompatible with the board. When in doubt use the free software by Memtest86. I was able to test the pair of modules (and each individually) and find several (OK, LOTS) of reported errors. This was tested on the first batch of memory and replacement.Side Note - I did switch to another manufacture for memory and have had absolutely no issues. The memory used was Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3000MHz C15 Desktop Memory - Black. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074Q45BNH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 About the same price point and even a tad bit faster. Memtest86 did not find any errors (after 8 hours of deep scanning).Hope this helps anyone else out there looking to use this with a Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 motherboard. I'm sure these modules work with other boards but it was certainly odd getting two different batches giving the same random memory errors in Windows 10.

Very great!
Very nice, as advertised. Colours and very vibrant. Only issue I have is sometimes I need to open the Aura software when I turn my pc on to get the colour I set it to. However that doesn’t effect the actual performance of the product.

Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16 Kit
