Schrade SCH304MS Mini Frame Lock Partially Serrated Folding Knife

I bought this knife and the SCH303M purely to customize. For the low price, I was not too concerned with messing it up. There are a lot of good qualities to this knife, but I had a few issues.Pros:-great for those looking for small knives with deep carry-can flip relatively easily-they fit a lot of blade into the handle (2.75" with 2.5"+ cutting edge) handle is roughly 3&3/8"-decent steel (9cr18mov)Cons:-All of the screws but two were over-tightened. I bought the knife to take it apart and paint the scales, but the screws stripped. (2 T6's and 1 T8) I was able to get the knife apart because the pivot screw was maneuverable, but on the SCH303M I could not get it apart.-The coating on the handle and blade is very prone to smudges from fingers.I included pictures of the knife after I took it apart and customized the scales.I think it is worth the buy. Great low profile knife. A little stiff to open but that leads to a good lock postion. I like the broad blade. Not, very sharp on the cutting edge but, who cares you have a serrated blade too. I will order another after I lose this one.

I was a little worried about buying this without seeing it and handling it. I am very happy with this knife. The clip is very tough and doesn't easily slide onto my pocket or belt. I can easily remove the clip.The body of the knife is thin making this a great knife for your pocket. I forget it is in there until I need it.It is sharp! And it seems to be pretty durable as well.

I liked the look of this knife, it has great reviews, and the price was very attractive as well. It was exactly what I was looking for- a small, thin knife for EDC that wouldn't take up much room in my pocket. Unfortunately the first, and last, day I carried it I had two close calls where the knife was partially open when I stuck my hand in my pocket. I was carrying it dropped in my pocket and not using the clip. So I'm not sure if the studs were catching on the material and pulling it open, possibly. There doesn't seem to be enough pressure to hold the knife closed securely, at least on the one I received. I returned it the next day.

For the price, this is an awesome small knife. I used it often at work in the warehouse and it cuts through everything. It's almost more useful to me than more expensive knives because I'm not worried about breaking the bank by damaging it. Holds together well, no play in the blade. Would recommend it to a friend and buy again.
