Inov8 All Terrain Pro Vest (S/M) Running Pack

As a regular Ultramarathon runner I bought this primarily for longer training runs and races (where I needed to carry more kit than the bags I currently have allow). However, I also needed something for my weekly run-commutes.This is certainly a premium priced product and, as such, you should ask how much running you do before shelling out £80 (a cheap £20 bag is fine if you’re just running a short distance to work and back - or even doing marathons or 50k’s).But if you want/ need something for some serious miles - this could be it.The production/ materials/ finishing is better than on the cheaper bags I own, although the number of pockets is similar to a £50 Grevel bag.What sets this apart is the attention to detail. The water bottles are tucked cleverly towards your flanks and there is very little movement from these when running (something you appreciate after 50+ miles). There are neat soft pockets for stuffing gloves/ hats for easy access and the front zip pocket easily fits a large smart phone.Best of all, this is actually 2 bags in 1 as the main backpack is detachable so you can wear it just as a race vest (perfect for marathons or 50k’s where you just need water and gels). The main bag attached through 6 clipped points, resulting in no movement, and is large enough for a coat and all the other clobber you’d need for a longer race/ commute. It’s not the biggest bag Inov8 do, but is big enough for most runs which don’t require full winter kit storage.Just be careful with the sizing as I accidentally ordered the S/M first which was way too small for a 6ft male (the L/XL fits perfectly).Great product - but at a premium price.

I bought this for trail running, so far only really used the vest part on longer runs as the additional section will be more useful for winter runs to carry the extra equipment.So it's very lightweight, yet surprisingly strong, all the clasps zips eye are well made and work easily, I find the back zip pocket tricky to open on the run, but when stopped I can get in and out of it without removing the vest. Great squash flasks work well but a bladder is needed on longer warm runs.Down sides- dark colour I want to be seen, and it makes it a great magnet-very small phone zip pocket 3210 territory

I love this vest! The bottles sit perfectly on the side of the pecs, out front of the armpits. The vest expands as your diaphragm expands while you settle into pace. Tons of pockets for gels and everything else you want to carry. The bottles don't easily insert, so expect to stop completely while you refill or re-insert. Extremely adjustable. I'm 5'7", 150lbs with a wider chest. The small fits perfectly for me.

Sadly, the item arrived with one of the seams broken next to the water bottle pocket. Its a single stitched seam between the super thin material of the bag and an edging material, and the seam had come apart, i.e. it was tornThe material of this bag is extremely thin, and its clear from the single stitching that the quality is low, and that it wouldn't be capable of any abuse, as mine didn't survive being posted from Amazon.

Bought for hubby as christmas present to encourage hydration when running long distances. Very happy with it. Comes in two bitsHas many features & pockets - can fit i-phone 6. In zip pocket with key attachment. Whistle. Good fit , when wearing no movement . Rucksack can be left on or off without causing any problems. Good construction, water resistant. Size on small size. M/L fits a smaller build

im a size S or size 10 uk and the fit was okay, im 5'8 so i found the fit a little 'short' up. the detachable backpack was nice feature.Since there is a detachable pack feature, the vest has alot of extra toggles and clips which make a bit of noise when running. it took a bit of getting use to work out how to secure the detachable pack properly. Bag was okay in light rain (outside for around 1hr) but bit useless in UK torrential rain :) I also found that when i ran with the water bottles empty they didnt stay secured in the pockets

It’s all very well Innov 8 providing a free emergency blanket and plastic foldable cup with this product, but they have failed to provide any sort of way to stow poles at the front of the pack. This massively contradicts the model name ‘all terrain’. I have tried contacting customer services but have received no reply. There are loops on the vest which on past models had elastic chord attached. Innov 8 have not added this.

Only used a few times, but seems a great product so far, compared with others available. Nice fit, hardly noticeable when running, hydration tubes tuck away when not in use.
