Only one step to assemble. Extremely Sturdy and maneuverable. The stool just glides across a floor, if the floor is smooth. Heavy rubber inserts so you don't slip. Sturdy steel but lite enough to lift. Like the color selection also. Worth the money! Highly recommend!

I've used a Kik-Step my whole library career (over 40 years). They are rugged and safe. They are the only stool I know of where they roll well but when you step (or sit) on them, they stop immediately and don't move. I've wanted one for home for years but didn't want to take a chance on something that looks similar; these are just too reliable for that.The only drawback I could find was that pushing the top part onto the bottom doesn't involve just a push. I've put a lot of furniture and other items together. The thing is, you have to force pegs into metal holes that are deliberately made so they can grab the top sturdily. What I found I had to do was (and please beware, I'm sure the company wouldn't approve), was to hold onto a wall and stomp hard with one foot on the leg I was attaching, then rotate and repeat. That worked just fine, and I'm glad to finally own such a great product.

Buy this product and you will not have to sneak the one out of the local library!It have one simple assembly step. However you might not want to in some applications.Once assembled, it cannot be taken apart, except by a 5 year old.If you don't attach the upper part of the stool, you can use it for really LOW work and just lift your butt a little and the unit will roll to the next place you need to work.If you do attach the upper part it is sturdy (it holds my 300 pounds without a problem).I liked the choice of color options. My old one was industrial gray (I got it... not from the library... from a company that I worked for that shut down) got swiped by my brother.

I was looking for a new step stool to fit our seven year old and wanted a product that would have multi purpose use for the household. You can opt to not put the top on and use the base only. I measured my daughters height to the countertop and agility to stand on the step stool in front of mirror. I drilled one foot on top always whether getting off or on stool due to the rollers under base. She did great and I loved her smile. I never realized when purchasing this step stool it would buy self confidence in a child. The stool is a beautiful vibrant orange. I like the fact that when I want to use the bathroom sink I can easily slide the step stool to my preferred location with a sway of the foot. Without hesitation I decided to buy another stool for the kitchen. My child will now be able to reach the cereal bowls by herself and I can easily grab what I need out of the top cabinets.

This is a very sturdy step stool that can slide when you need it to. It comes in various colors. I use mine in a closet. I can pull it out and use it as a sitting stool when I have company visit.

This beauty is sturdy! I roll it wherever I want with a foot & step on it & voila!

I ordered this to replace the same stool that is 40 years old. I am very disappointed that it arrived with the gasket that goes around the very bottom broken. It wasn’t even long enough to glue back on.
