As I have two other identical (or so they looked) corner shelves in black, I felt confident ordering this for a different room in a different color. Apparently, this is different seller. When I opened the package, the smell of paint was quite noticeable. To neaten up. I unpacked box carefully and set instructions and parts aside to discard the packaging. Today I assembled it. (I assembled my two others with no difficulty). First, there were no holes drilled to line up with the balancing strips on the bottom. I super glued them on. Second, the dowels to secure the top shelf were way too small. I also had to super glue the top shelf as it was going to drop off otherwise. It had a SERIOUS SLANT. I'll buy some larger dowels to secure the top. I don't have long nails, but they are neatly manicured in a rounded shape. One brushed across one of the shelves and it instantly scratched to the wood. My hand smelled faintly of paint. I am sorely disappointed in this item that, FOR THE LACK OF QUALITY, is incredibly overpriced. This shelf is also a tiny bit smaller and weighs less than the other two I have. The pieces on my black shelves are sturdy and weighty. Since I had already disposed of the packaging and am I am still in self quarantine due to high risk for Covid, I cannot go out to return this item or I would. I think this is the most disappointing item I have ever ordered from Amazon. Buyer Beware! Patti W., Lafayette, CO
