PrePaid Europe (UK Lycamobile) 30 Days 6GB SIM Card with Unlimited Mins/Texts and 100 International Minutes to Call USA/Canada and Free Roaming in All EU Countries

We purchased two of these cards for our trip to Italy. We tried to get our phones to function for seven of the eleven days we were there and finally gave up. Nothing would work, we couldn’t text, call or, utilizes there internet service. The only time the phones were available was at the hotels we stayed at ( because they had Wi-Fi) to text but still could not call. We utilized the hotel Wi-Fi to contact Lycamobile and followed all there recommended fixes and still it would not work. We could not fine any stores at any locations we were at and this included Milan. We ended up reinstalling our Verizon cards and paid the $10/day/phone so we could stay in touch with members of our party. Do not waste your money on this product. Do not waste your time with technical support. Do not waste your time trying to get your phone to operate in the EU. Your time is too valuable to waste while you are in such a beautiful country

tl;dr: not without flaws, but would still definitely buy again. Cost me $25 where if I had used the AT&T daily "passport" or other international package, I'd be looking at about $200 in extra fees.So, I had a two week trip to Germany & Poland, stopping at LHR for the first connection, where I installed the card. I had and unlock code ready, so while having a pint in LHR, I swapped SIMs. Entered the unlock code (I have AT&T and a LG V40), and it was on its way. Picked up Lycamobile & registered pretty quickly, then the setup & welcome text started coming in. I didn't actually have to manually set the APN. I tried to run the "balance" code (*137#), but it didn't work in the UK (go figure?).Upon landing in Germany, it picked a carrier & set itself up properly also. Re-ran the balance code, which worked that time, but it listed just below 6GB - My card was sold as a 8GB " bonus package" if it was activated before Feb or something (activated Jan 16th). So that wasn't what I expected.The phone & SIM hotspotted just fine, which was very important to me as I have to use my laptop often. during the Poland portion of the trip (Gdansk by train), the phone switched over & continued to work fine.Hit an issue returning to Germany though... after crossing back in at Frankfurt am Oder, I received the "welcome to GERMANY" text, but data did not switch properly. I had to force it to search carriers and select a few manually to get the APN to reconfigure correctly, taking about 45min of experimentation. Worked normally for several days, but at one point dropped proper carriers & had to manually reselect again. Those were basically the only situations it gave me trouble.I'm not a terribly heavy data usage, but I didn't hold back. Trip ended up being extended to nearly 3 weeks, and I think I had about 1GB & 90-something International minutes left, even hotspotting pretty often.

Didn't function at all. This product was promoted as providing internet, phone and text access in most European countries, with around 100 minutes calls back to the US. Claimed easy activation. When we arrived in Switzerland we couldn't activate it ourselves. We in sequence went to 1) a mobile telephone company; 2) a store specializing in selling different sim cards; 3) a kiosk selling Lycamobile sim cards and finally 4) the Lycamobile headquarters in Zurich- a one hour bus ride from the center. NO ONE COULD ACTIVATE THIS SIM CARD. At the Lycamobile office in Zurich, the rep on his phone called the UK customer service number for Lycamobile, as this was a UK card and he could do nothing as he was a Swiss rep. UK Agent gave no explanation as to why it wouldn't activate, and said "maybe I can call you back in four hours." How? Were we supposed to wait four hours in this office as we didn't have a phone that worked?So we bought Swiss Lycamobile SIM cards. Used them in Switzerland, Italy and France. Terrible! When they had any access at all- which was infrequently- they were very slow. 3G only. We had many gaps in coverage, even in large cities like Venice, Trieste, Turin, Lyon and Paris.

I thought this product was good for all of Europe and installed it in Gibraltar only to discover that Gibraltar wasn't included. In order to use this product for texts or phone calls additional charges would apply. However, I could receive texts and send emails for free and use it for internet use, weather, and time, so it wasn't a complete loss. I was able to email all of the photos I took back to me to download on my regular computer. In fact, I will add a star to the original 3 I listed. I didn't know how to contact tech support but was able to use the card for everything except sending texts and phone calls. I didn't want to attach my credit card to it because I was getting text notices of bills from a Scottish energy company - don't know how that originated or what that was - maybe a spam thing or the card was recycled from a previous user? As you can see I am new at this so rated this taking this also in consideration.

Hidden in the fine print was a warning that in order to use this SIM card, you had to activate the phone in the UK. Problem, as I was not in the UK for the first week of my vacation, and had to make do with wi-fi only. I then tried activating the phone within the UK, and despite Lycamobile's promise that the card came with prepaid minutes, I had to pay to put minutes on the phone. The phone then did not work for calls or texts. Waste of money; save yourself the aggravation and just buy a SIM card at the airport when you land!

I ordered 3 sims and was able to use 2 of them just fine. I had to stall using the last one because of COVID and when I wrote the company they said it would be good for over a year or so. I just tried to use it after 2 years and it was dead. Make sure if you buy it ahead of time how much time you have to use it.

Would not work in Spain. Put in Orange Sim works immediately.

Bought two of these each time we travelled to the United Kingdom!!!installed upon arrival, worked flawlessly throughout our travels.Would recommend actually came to buy again for upcoming trip
