Garmin Suction Cup Mount with Magnetic Cradle for nuvi 3597LMTHD

Works just fine

Item is a genuine Garmin product. I purchased to replace the original which had failed after five years of use. I have used the new item and it works perfectly with my Nuvi 3597. Very happy with the item and with Amazon purchase experience.

I didn't buy this product for the suction mount, but rather for the magnetic holder for my Nuvi. So far, the issues I experienced with the old magnetic holder have not resurfaced. If this continues to be the case, the service life of my Nuvi3697 will be greatly extended and my $27 purchase will be a very good investment.

After using my Garmin GPS unit for several years, part of the inner connection to the magnetic cradle broke off, so the unit would simply drop off. My options: buy a new GPS (not practical) - buy a replacement from Garmin (too expensive) or buy this one - best choice. Even though I don't plan to use the suction mount, this combo was the best $ choice and the magnet portion works perfectly!

I love the new Magnetic Cradles!!! The old style pin into the back was so flimsy that I always had to get multiple ones due to them breaking ofter. These however are so sturdy that I don't think I will even use my backup.Very happy with how easy it is to take my Garmin off the window mess with it then snap it right back up again!Caution it does take a little time getting use to just where you snap it in and I wonder if you do it wrong or smash it along its sides if you could run into problems... So far it snaps right into place every time though.

Works perfectly on a Garmin 3597LM GPS. The suction cup can detach if you just need the magnetic craddle.The craddle will attach to any standard ball and socket window, vent, or dashboard mount. The craddle will attach snuggly to the ball and socket mount ensuring the GPS does not shift down or move without you wanting it to.The magnet is very strong and will keep the GPS in place over any bumps in the road you might encounter. I highly recommend this mount!

You don't have any other options if you want a magnetic mount. That being said, it works great. The magnet is super strong so no road bump will ever make it come loose. The back of the GPS has a raised frame around its contacts that locates itself into the mount easily without even having to guide it so that the electrical connections mate perfectly. It's a well thoughout well engineered accessory that's a must have. It allows for easy removal if the GPS without dealing with wires. Remember to hide your GPS when you park, it is expensive and you don't want it stolen.
