LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I have usually owned bissell products and have been pleased, my last I had was a cheap vacuum and lasted for about 5 years. I love Bissell because they’re not so expensive! They think of the people who can’t always afford a $200 vacuum AND NOW they are helping pets! I’m sold!! Love love lovePs.... I just spent the day yesterday cleaning my bedroom the hose even has great suction!Update: it’s been a week and I love this vacuum even more!!! Replacement parts not available through the website
I used this vacuum for about a year. I'm having to replace the brush roller and belt. When I went to the Bissell website to buy the part it said they are no longer available. They are not available on Amazon either.Had to contact customer service. The person I spoke to had such a broken accent I could hardly understand her. I eventually ordered the part because they had them available in the warehouse. In using the vacuum I discovered I need a retractable power cord.

Very Good Vacuum, Especially for Carpets
I have been on the lookout for a bagless vacuum to use for regular cleaning of my old house. For several years, I've been using a bag-style Miele vacuum, which has been great but is needing replacement. And I'm hoping to find a way to avoid purchasing bags. I've been testing this Bissell model on bare floors, as well as flat and semi-shaggy types of carpets for the past few weeks.Below are my impressions. I offer details about this vacuum itself, and also make a direct comparison to my canister-style vacuum when appropriate...PACKING AND ASSEMBLYThe vacuum comes packed in a large cardboard box, with foam inserts for protection. All parts are wrapped in their own plastic bags. While I understand the need to make sure the vacuum arrives safely, I'd say that there is unnecessary waste here, and I'd really like to see zero foam. It took me about 5 minutes to get all of the parts un-packed. Assembly was fast, about 7 minutes. It requires no special tools -- just a screwdriver. The vacuum was ready to run in less than 15 minutes from the time it arrived.CONSTRUCTIONThis vacuum is made very nicely. Everything has a solid feel about it. The hoses are thick and sturdy, and the plastic parts seem like they will last.GENERAL USAGE AND TOOL OPTIONSThe vacuum is described as specializing in pet hair, and it does have a terrific attachment for handling that. It also has other tools for getting into crevices and cleaning bare floors. In normal operation, the vacuum is easy to move around. The vacuum head is small enough to get partly under a bed, although nowhere near as far as with the small head that I attach to my canister vacuum. The head has good swivel range, so you can get into corners or make it angle to follow a wall easily. One special thing about this vacuum is that it separates in order to carry just one light part. This feature makes it very easy to clean stairs. Bissell did a good job implementing this: with a press of a button, the sections separate, and they click back together quickly.AIR FILTERINGThe vacuum comes with two filters: a standard filter, as well as a Febreeze scented filter. I dislike scents, so I only use the un-scented filter. It works well, as I cannot see any dust flying around when I use this vacuum, even in bright sunlight. The filter is easily accessible in the vacuum.NOISE LEVELThis vacuum is definitely louder than the Miele I am accustomed to. With the Miele, I can carry on a conversation while vacuuming. With this vacuum, the high-pitched sound makes people not want to be near you when you work! However, the noise level is lower then a couple of other vacuums I have tested. I'd say it is about middle range for vacuum noise: definitely not quiet, but not excessively loud.CLEANING EFFECTIVENESSThe real test of a vacuum is how it cleans, of course! I'd say that this vacuum has some great strengths, and is average in other areas. Its strength is carpet cleaning. I was very impressed with how vigorously this vacuum pulled out dirt from all carpets in my house. The carpets are noticeably cleaner with this vacuum, even compared with my Miele. Very nice! This is especially good when you have pets. For bare floors, I'd say it does fine -- nothing special, but good enough. The dirt canister is easy to empty and clean, and re-install in the vacuum.CONCLUSIONThis is a well-built vacuum, which handles bare floors well enough, has some nice options, and exhibits superb carpet-cleaning power.

10 amps of suction; Bagless; Easy Stair Cleaning! Very maneuverable.
This is a reasonably priced 10 amp upright vacuum with largely plastic construction and a large bagless collection canister. Assembly takes just a few minutes and requires a Philips screwdriver. The complete assembly holds the smaller tools except the pet hair tool which you'll need to store separately. Rather than the handle pulling out and doubling as an extension wand, the handle is locked in place and there's a separate extension tube. The head is reasonably compact for this size vacuum and can fit underneath furniture more easily than many uprights. There's also a swiveling ability so that you can get into odd spaces with less difficulty than you might have otherwise. As you set up the vacuum, you'll notice right away that there doesn't appear to be a mounting path for the vacuum hose, which sits oddly in front of the handle. This leads to one of the great benefits of this unit: the entire vacuum assembly can be disengaged from the handle and the head, making it easy to use on the stairs or in tight locations that an upright couldn't otherwise reach. You simply press a button, pop out the vacuum, disengage the hose, and hold the vacuum in one hand, the hose in the other, and you're ready to go. Yes, you look like you're carrying gear for the Mandalorian, but your stairs will be dust-free when you're done. The vacuum is loud and you've got it at close range, but it doesn't quite cross the line into requiring earplugs. The tradeoff for this two-in-one setup is the loss of a retractable AC cord. You've got to wind it up when you're done (little handles are provided for this purpose).Maneuverability is very good and the wheels spin easily over carpet and floor. The entire assembly is heavier than comparably sized units, probably to accommodate the two-in-one capabilities, but you don't really notice this since you're not carrying the unit up and down stairs (you just make two trips with the two separate sections, the first one while you vacuum the stairs, and the second to retrieve the rest of the assembly). The unit comes with two filters - one is already installed, and the other is a replacement, but the replacement is a Febreze filter and therefore provides a fresh scent as you vacuum. The vacuum, oddly, lacks a headlight. Given how easily LED-based lightbars can be fit into almost any space these days, I find that annoying. The power switch and beater-bar switches are next to each other and are small black rocker switches that aren't necessarily intuitive to find. The beater-bar automatically shuts off when the handle is upright, but you can turn it off manually when vacuuming hardwood/tile if desired.Ultimately, there are some tradeoffs here. I'm impressed with the powerful suction and the two-in-one stairway capabilities. I'd like a headlight. I miss a retractable cord. I'd suggest changing the power switch from black to red, with the beater-bar switch light gray. Both switches will be more readily apparent and easily distinguished that way. And I'd add one more post for holding the pet hair tool, or that will quickly be lost. Overall, a very reasonable upright with build quality consistent with the price point.
