Name brand quality
I’ve always had great luck with Yamaha products over the years. They seem to take great pride in their quality and manufacturing techniques and I have nothing but good things to say about Yamaha music equipment.

Decent solution
I love how quiet this pedal is. I bought it to solve the solution of noise from my older pedal and that has been resolved with this nice pedal. I also bought it to avoid the sliding across my vinyl plank flooring that my old pedal did. This pedal is much better with less sliding due to the solid rubber grippy on the bottom of the pedal. But it still moves a little bit for me so I have to place my digital piano keyboard Parallel to my desk so that the pedal can be stopped against the base of the desk. This solves my problem about having a pedal constantly sliding on the floor while I’m trying to play music!I tried placing a flat rubber grip mat on the floor, but it didn’t work. I used a bathmat with a rubber grip on the back of it to help cease the pedal sliding across the floor. If you have a hard surface flooring, this is a great solution along with this pedal. Or what I’m doing now with placing something behind the pedal to make sure it can’t move. But this pedal does MUCH better at staying still than any other pedal I’ve tried. And I LOVE the responsiveness of the pedal and how QUIET the action is!

A must for the Yamaha ModX workstation
Tried a couple of different generic sustain pedals that didn’t work. After reviewing multiple user group post, I bought this pedal. It works like a charm. If you have a Yamaha ModX, save yourself the headache and get this one.

Quality
I have a Yamaha key board, and Guitar Center sold me a Pro-Line sustain pedal, insisting that it would work with my keyboard (they were out of stock on the Yamaha FC3A). It was reversed in polarity i.e. full sustain with pedal not pushed. I wasted an hour and a half following manual, Youtube, and Yamaha's web site, to no effect. I bought the Yamaha FC3A from Amazon, it arrived the same day. Plugged it in no problems works correctly. It also feels like it is better quality. About $15.00 more which is not much considering the time I wasted by getting poor advice.

A necessary accessory IMO; far superior the tiny pedal Yamaha sells with the keyboard
This is a necessary accessory in my opinion. The tiny sustain pedal Yamaha packages with their keyboards is just a placeholder, only works on non-carpeted surfaces and has only its small size to recommend it (if frequently transporting your equipment). Otherwise you're missing out if you don't immediately replace it with one of these. I've read reviews suggesting that some buyers have had them break or fail or be too noisy during use, but I've experienced none of that. If it doesn't hold up at least a year I'll be adding an addendum to this review, but so far it's great.

Plug and Play on Yamaha Piaggero NP-12
Needed a pedal for my son's ongoing lessons and he took right right to it. Plugs right into the jack on the NP-12 and off he went. Very solid and sturdy build quality pedal, very grippy rubber base that keeps it planted to the floor, no sliding at all.

Good pedal for Yamaha with half-damper capability
This is a robust, quiet, functional pedal with half-damper capability for keyboards that respond to it. Ridged rubber patches on the bottom reduce slippage on a variety of surfaces, although it still moves around a bit on hardwood floors. The range on the half-damper is narrow, at least when used with a P-225, so using it well takes some adaptation. Finally, it's noteworthy that Yamaha uses the opposite polarity from many other popular keyboards, so check compatibility if you intend to use it with something other than a Yamaha.
