Silverstone ML02B-MXR Aluminum/Steel Micro ATX Media Center/HTPC Case - Retail (Black)

This is a great looking case, the form factor is tight but there really is plenty of room if you get the right components. The remote works just fine, I really enjoy the LCD display, it has a ton of potential. Put simply, she is worth the price, and she is easy on the eyes.

Even with a passively cooled Atom-based mini-ITX board from Zotac, temps get too high for a stable system. I bought some extra 50mm fans to put in to tray and improve airflow, but ended up just giving the case to my cousin instead ;-) On the plus side, it's really really pretty.

I did not buy this from Amazon, I got it from Newegg and paid a lot more than steal of a deal being offered here.None the less this retro Silverstone case caught my attention and I made it a goal to convert it as a modern day HTPC.So I had to make modifications, ditching the puny 120W PSU in favor of a PICO PSU, I got a 500W version but I only did that so I would meet the spec requirement of the GIGABYTE B350 D3H motherboard I chosen, and paired with a AMD Ryzen 5 3400G, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 2TB NVMe for boot/storage.I also added a Slim Blu-Ray disc drive I found cheap on ebay, and a old Pinnacle PCTV HD tv tuner card I had abandoned because it was old PCI, but it works fine for this specific motherboard.This PC case includes the IMON LCD built-into the case, that comes with a Media Center like remote control.Although it is dated the IMON software, surprisingly still works in 2020 with only minor quirks.It will automatically pull RSS data and scroll news information in addition to hardware info, and other media center functions including become an equalizer. The IMON HD is an included media center app that works with the IMON and can easily be reconfigured to work with specific applications.Overall this is not a bad case if you plan on making a fancy looking HTPC. The price tag Amazon is selling that last item stock is a steal.As you can see from the pictures I put adhesive stand offs on the bottom of the case so it can sit higher.I did this because I had to cut a hold out of the bottom of the case for the PICO PSU I installed where the DC adapter plug will go.
