Easy to use
I installed this in my garage to help power my POE cameras. It was very easy to set up and it doesn't make any noise at all.

Great switch for a large install
We implemented this switch in an apartment complex with 11 buildings about four months ago. So far they work great, I am able to monitor all of the switches through the Insight service by Netgear. We will definitely use again. However, I would not rely on Netgear support for anything beyond basic set up. When I called them to try and figure out some of the more complex settings the tech-support people knew less than I did about it.

The coolest 8 port PoE+ Gigabit Switch with management
I was not too sure about Netgear's Insight managed network switch. The idea of insight managed sounds to me a big bloatware situation. However I was trying to find a good managed 8 port gigabit switch with PoE+ capabilities, there's not many options so I decided to give this a try.And I am very satisfied. This switch has all the good features I would expect from Netgear. The Insight management is opt-in so I just turned it off and there's no trouble with that. And then I noticed that this is the coolest switch I have. It barely is warmer than ambient. I've got a bunch of other similar switches. Except the ones without management and without PoE, nothing is cooler than this. I am quite confident to use it in a closed cabinet.

more than 2 insight devices require a subscription
I have only owned this for about a week, although I have 5 years experience with one of the bigger companies cloud devices.Pros: I really like the transparency. So far I like the alerts although they may get old! This will really help me give my customers solid data when dealing with not so solid ISP's. I will be able to rule out the network as being the problem due to its historical performance info. And 10 dollars a year per device for premium management features! WAAAAY better than what I pay with the competition!Cons: I wish it had some sort of system wide cable check, or audit. I'm impatiently waiting for multiuser support. I'd love to give the onsight office manager access to view only on the app. I was bugged that I had to "purchase premium" to get it all up and running and no where in amazon's sales page listed a subscription fee. they should give a basic get it up and running subscription for free.

PoE works great
PoE works great. Using the device for six Raspberry Pi units (one has a Samsung SSD device attached) and it seems to work great. Have not used the Web interface and in my case don't really need to. Just need PoE and connectivity which is 1Gb.

Great Product
Bought this for a home network as I wanted a managed network at home. This was great performance for the money. Insight pro was exactly what I was looking . Only draw back was insight pro was a subscription, but it was only like $32/year so not bad at all. I did how ever end up returning this as there wasn’t enough ports. I ended ordering the gc728x very similar model. Overall I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a managed network.

Self power cycle periodically
I bought it from warehouse deal. Not sure it has hardware or software issue. Its ports go up and down once in while at midnight. Sometimes it loses connection with its cloud server. Its local UI is second to none after one year subscription is expired. I am thinking about switching to TP-Link Omada supported poe switch.

Piece of Garbage requires Internet Connectivity to be Managed
The product is locked down and refuses to allow local management without a registration key.I have been fighting with their techsupport team to provide a proper key for multiple hours but they have refused to allow me to enable the functionality of the device I purchased. This is essential a piece of garbage L2 only switch with NO management functionality, unless you can pry a registration key out of Netgear support.

Good product
Once you tinker a bit with it a little, you will get the hang of it.
