Luftwaffe Codes, Markings & Units 1939-1945: Hardcover – October 1, 1995

I had this book and then someone "borrowed" it from me, never to return. I've read a previous review stating the lack of color shots in this book. Yes, it is all black and white, but we have to realize this was WWII. If you want color plates the internet is full of them. If you want a precise break-down of Luftwaffe Units, as well as assorted other unit information, with an assortment of other little details regarding Luftwaffe aircraft, you need to buy this book. This is not a cheaply made book and the author is exhaustive when it comes to information. This is also not your run-of-the-mill fighter unit only book, it covers bomber squadrons, transport, and other non-descript units. I recently bought a new copy, buy one now before, like other concise Luftwaffe books, this one disappears and becomes rare.

Hardback-with dust jacket-1 and 1/4 inches thick. Glossy paper- Book has 1159 photos-528 B/W side profiles. The aircraft are not in type order. All the photos are by squadron, so as you go thru the book you may see any one type in a dozen spots. This is an excellent squadron markings book. Hope this helps. CAP

I knew all-good fame following Barry Rosch books, but didn't expect THAT quality and widely spread approach. It is definitely one the most important books in my Luftwaffe related volumes. Not an easy to get for real bargain price, but anyway... valuable add to anything I get previously on German aircraft in WWII.

Superb. Over four hundred pages of information and images. Would have been even better if some colour images but nevertheless very comprehensive and worth buying for the price I paid.
