Ardex 8+9 Waterproofing Compound

Goes on nice and thick and makes a hard styrofoam-like waterproof surface. I used it over Kerdi for belt and suspenders but allegedly you can paint this over pretty much anything and come up with a shower.One caveat, there are not enough ingredients to use the entirety of both reagents for a paintable consistency. So don’t assume, always measure by weight for each batch (need two coats).

Water proofing a shower

I am DIY'er and just did my first walk in shower with Kerdi membrane and their drain kit. I knew that thinset would not make it waterproof so i found some videos on youtube that goes by Tilecoach and he suggested to use this stuff. This makes it 100% waterproof and it is easy to see why. Try to make it as runny as possible because it is very easy to make it thick. Did a 48hr flood test without a single drop leaking anywhere. Great stuff
