Sunlite Pillar Suspension Seat Post, Silver

I LOVE IT
This post works great. I tried adjusting the tension to different levels and what worked best for me was leaving the adjusting screw almost all the way out. Before installing this post I could feel every single little bump and pebble on the road. Even with my tires filled at 65 psi (700C road bike) I could feel the road. Now that I have this post installed I can't feel the harsh road. Even going over railroad tracks is fine. It really does make a huge difference having this post installed. I weigh 170 pounds and this cushions the road for me just fine. I don't know what the max or minimum weight limit is for this thing, I just know that for my weight, it's great. I hope this helps, and I hope it works out for you too. This is a great product.

Bargain priced butt saver!
This inexpensive spring-loaded seat post is much better than I expected! I considered buying a much more expensive one like the ThudBuster but as an average sized woman I didn't think I needed much to offset the potholes in my commute. So I bought this one first and figured if it wasn't enough cush I could put it on one of my son's bikes. Well, it's perfect! It doesn't come with the clamps for the seat rails, but I had an extra that came with a seat that I bought for my son. I also needed a shim because this is a 27.2 post and my bike takes a 28.6. It's a $3-5 part and easy to source either here on Amazon or at any local bike shop. Well worth the total price, as long at it holds up for a reasonable amount of time I am more than satisfied.

Wobbles after about 20 uses side to side
Just like the title said, a wobble has developed. I don't see a way to fix this without completely disassembling the seatpost. The one screw on the bottom of the post adjusts the bouncy responseness but doesnt help at all with the wobble. I'll be sure and update the review when it actually breaks but I don't trust this and I wouldn't buy it again.

Good Enough
Of the several suspension posts available, the simple internal spring versions like this Sunlite Pillar would suitably smooth out most of the ride over ruts and chuck holes. I started using suspension in combination with a seat that helps absorb the shock because the bumps were causing sharp pains in my spine, and soon after installing this Sunlite Pillar and Cloud Nine seat never had give it any further thought. The tension is adjustable on the bottom, and it also has an unusual ability to pivot that the Amazon web page describes as "Collar adjustment for play removal". I would assume then that the knurled adjuster just below the dust cover removes play by turning it clockwise. That likely means it tightens up the inner post and helps lock it in place.BIKEMANFORU has a couple of videos on Youtube showing how to attach seat posts to bicycle seats.RJ THE BIKE GUY has a video on how to service suspension seat posts. There are several other suspension seat posts available ranging from around $16 all the way up over $300. At $21 this one is working just fine for me.

Installed this on my Custom E-Bike
Fantastic !! All the other really expencie seat posts. Crazy. I am a Elec Tech 13 years. This Seat Post on my Schwinn 700c with no Suspention but THIS seatpost..... As a E-Bike going 25 kills all bumps, railroad tracks, everything.... I still have a stock seat. But THIS Seatpost Came NICELY packaged, instructions, and looks good. No Side to Side Movement. No ISSUES at all. Just works Great! and the bottom you can adjust with a metric allen, even has a small label with a list of how many turns you need for the spring setting. I couldn't understand the force and I just set the turns to what felt great. SOILD Build Seatpost. 2 day shipping to Oregon. Not Cheaply made. Greatly Made Rubber boot about 3-4 inches i guess covering the Section that would move. 100% Recommend no Cons only Pros. I weight 229lbs. annd works great, I have it stiff set. but it works PERFECT Great PRICE. --- I was not paid or reimbursed to say any of this

Long pole
Works great and really saves the arse over multiple bumps, should have bought one earlier, and I wouldnt be dealing with this exploded hemmy. Be sure to put seat back on before testing.

Should have bought this sooner.
This thing is great. I have a pretty fast motorized bike and I was taking a beating from the bumps. Not anymore. I set the tension to the max because I weigh about 230. Perfect. Smoother ride by far. Very pleased.

Great For Cruisers and Commuters
I dont do any sort of competitive cycling but this is great for a commuter, cruiser and mayme even some light trail riding. It has adjustable preload. Great alternative for expensive full suspension frames.
