Noisy USB Adapter
I bought this headset after reading about it in MacWorld. Unfortunately even after returning it once for a replacement I've noticed that the USB adapter causes a rhythmic beeping feedback noise on both of my Macs. This essentially makes it useless because the noise is distracting and makes it unusable for audio voice recordings. After the second unit exhibited the same problem, I called Altec Lansing for their advice. They claimed that it's "a problem with Macs" and advised me to contact Apple. I think it's a bit disingenuous of them to call this "Mac compatible" right on the package, when its functionality appears to be greatly diminished.I'm going to try iMic next. But I feel ripped off by this product.

USB Adaptor Works Great
I have a Mac system and this headset works great. Sound is acceptable and mic works fine. The big plus is the USB adaptor. I plug it into my system and the computer automatically switches the audio in and out to the headset. Unplug and everything goes back to normal. Perfect for my needs.

Bought Two - May Buy Another
No fuss with this headset. Works well, sounds good, records well. The only thing I don't like is that the headset is not adjustable so you can't make it fit larger or smaller. Other than that I love it. The USB adapter alone is almost worth it.

Mac computer headsets
I bought these because they were well reviewed in a publication. They are a good price and work on a MAC (usb). I convinced 3 friends to buy them too. They are comfortable and sound great.

Sounded good, Worked fine -- falling apart over time
Update review:Right after I wrote the review below (regrettably with 4 stars) these headphones went down hill. The microphone jack still appears to work okay, but the earphone jack needs jiggling and bending ... and well, most anyone who's ever had a pair of crappy headphones knows that that is the sign which signals impending doom for the device. Also, the volume control on the descending wire is in poor shape and is unpredictable. I have had these for a while, but I have not been unduly rough on them and I don't feel that they have given up the value for what I spent on them.Original review:I bought these to use with Skype. Everyone said that I sound much better using this headset than via other microphone devices I tried. The earpads are pretty comfortable, though the wraparound thing is tight on the top of the ears. It leaves a temporary indentation in your skin (like sunglasses sometimes can); and it is not adjustable in anyway. Actually, the wraparound part doesn't even touch the back of your head. I think I must've bought an earlier version that had an overly large USB connector. The one pictured here is half the size, which would be a great improvement. And, in reality, I found my system worked better if I just plugged the pink mic jack and the green headphone jack into my Dell Pentium 4 destkop PC's sound card. I think the extra USB conversion time was too much and it came across as choppy on Skype. I also tried these on my new Acer laptop, and even using a wireless internet connection, people say I sound good. The only other thing I'm concerned about is the volume control on the wire. Mine has started to separate some and the round tuner knob is on the verge of becoming annoying, like the way many radios have problems with their volume knobs.

Very good; could be better
This headset was the best solution I could find for SKYPEing with a MAC G4 iBook. It has worked great in terms of sound quality. The fit of the headset takes a bit of getting used to; it is not 100% intuitive how to put the thing on. But once on, it is quite comfortable, unless of course you want to lean you head back against the headrest. My biggest compliant is really one I wouldn't expect the company to address. The device is made with RCA jacks and a "to-USB" adapter, which makes the connection to the computer bulky and ugly. Of course they need to be able to sell the thing to people who need RCA and those who need USB; I understand that. It just was a bit inelegant hanging off the side of my iBook.

AHS302USB incompatible with MAC
I bought 3 headsets on a recommendation from MacWorld. (last time i do THAT!)I had spotty success using these headsets. G4 laptops, one with Tiger, one with Panther, G5 with Tiger. Then finally, the headsets don't work at all. No sound input showing in the system prefs. I spent an hour on the phone with Apple, and they concluded it was due to incompatiblity which cumulatively gets worse and finally the product doesn't work.I emailed Altec Lansing...never got a response.I called Tech support and the disinterested employee passed me on to the corporate office where i left several messages for her to call me back, and am still waiting.I emailed and called again today and told them i am posting these complaints on the internet, so we'll see if they care about that. I'll report back resolution when/if i get any.The headset works like a charm on a PC. Really nice headset. BUT NOT MAC COMPATIBLE. Buyer Beware!
