Size: 4" Pot Sansevierias or as they are commonly called Snake Plants or Mother-in-law's Tongue have a rich history of folklore and new science. These plants have a rich history of cultivation. In China, it was kept as a treasured houseplant because the Eight Gods bestowed their eight virtues on those who grew them. These virtues include long life, prosperity, intelligence, beauty, art, poetry, health and strength. The plants were kept near the entrances inside the home so that the eight virtues could pass through in a manner pre-Feng Shui. These plants also were placed in fine restaurants, herbalists, acupuncturists, doctor's offices, accountant's offices, banks, shrines, monastaries, and even in rice paddies. Sansevierias were grown and cherished well before the Chinese ti plant (Dracaena spp.) also known as the Good Luck Bamboo!

It's growing beautifully.
I gave it some time before posting a review on this item. I received a very small plant. It was well-packaged, and I didn't notice anything wrong with the shoot. Per prior reviews, I immediately replanted the shoot. It is now a month and a half later. As of now, this plant is growing quite rapidly and beautifully. The leaves are growing nice and strong. This plant is in my bedroom since I had read that they are a good bedroom plant. Not sure if this is a reason, but I have been sleeping very well since around the time I received this plant.

Good packaging but not too interesting
I have purchased several plants from JMB and they always come well-packaged and shipped on time. The pots they provide are probably good for growing for a year or more. I suggest repotting with new soil if you are able, because I have seen fungus gnats after just one watering.This particular plant I deducted one star because there were a couple of brown spots and wilted leaves, although healthy overall. Also I don't find this particular species as interesting as other sansevieria types. The common mother-in-law's tongue looks nicer and is more interesting, in my opinion. But for a smaller space like a tabletop or desk, these could work. Mine were only about 4 inches tall on arrival.

i live in an apt. on 3rd floor and i wanted a plant to help keep the air clean and to look pretty....it took a couple of days but 'now' this plant is so cute and looks like it belongs here. i researched how 'not to kill it'..........water once a week and only fertilize april to sept. ....i never knew that.

Well Pleased!!!
Hi. I was very hesitant about ordering a plant through the mail but I gave up on trying to find a Mothers Tongue in stores. This plant arrived in such impeccable condition that it looked artificial. Lol It was tightly packed with no damage at all. I love it! Its really small so I get to watch it grow. Of course I was in Lowes the other day and they had a whole slew of larger Mothers Tongue plants in so I hav a larger one now as well. I believe anyone who orders from this vendor will be well pleased as well.

Snake Plant
I loved the fact that there were four starters in the 4 inch pot. When I went to transplant them they separated so I was able to put them in two pots. I have been wanting a Snake Plant for a long time now and the only other place I was able to find any wanted a lot of money for them. Thank you very much. Now that I know that I can get live plants on Amazon I will be shopping for more plants.

Lovely plant!
This is s lovely plant much smaller leaves and more compact than others in this family of plants!It arrived healthy, and did so well, I ordered a second plant to fill in the pot quicker!They both are doing nicely!Highly recommend!
