Life of Pi is a great book for entertainment purposes. In addition to being a good story, it is also informative. However, reading the book in its entirety, the book turns out to not only be a good yarn, but a story that makes the reader take pause.This is what literature professors and teachers love. Just great! Another book that lands on a required reading list for some classroom. And this one was a good one at that.The story turns out to be, in the author's own words, "a Story". Having won so many literary awards, it deserves a very critical look. There is so much there, the casual or novice reader might overlook the very valuable literary concepts this book has to offer.This is where the "Grade Saver Life of Pi" book shines as a study guide. It is well organized, easy to read, and offers clear explanations of meanings, symbolisms, and several other literary concepts that make the reader's experience with Life of Pi that much more rich.After reading Life of Pi, get this book, and comb through it again with a knowledgable guide. Other guides for this story are out there, but this one frames it in a way that readers at all levels of experience will be far more enriched as a result of reading it.

Very helpful. Not a lot of materials on this book. The quizzes were very very detailed and too difficult for some of my honors students. I would have preferred the four quizzes cover 4 different parts of the book. Instead each one of the four quizzes covered questions from all chapters. I had to eliminate some questions because the details were more than I expected from ninth graders who read Life of Pi as summer reading.

Useful but not your whole lesson plan

This study guide is atrocious in both lack of meaningful content and quality - there are terrible cut & paste errors, and typographical nonsense. This small volume has nearly half dedicated to short and simplistic multiple choice questions. As a study guide it is an insult to the subject matter.
