Samsung Multi All Region Code Free PAL/NTSC DVD Player with USB - Tmvel Stock

I bought this as a gift for my grandmother to play some DVDs that were encoded for/from another region. They worked well. This one is a lot smaller than all the other DVD players I'm used to seeing.The remote is a bit small so it's possibly easier to lose and/or damage, but does its job.

If you're going to buy DVDs through Amazon... this is an essential first step! Make the investment!!!I don't know if Amazon is aware of this, a great many of the DVDs being sold are from a different region than the USA. I bought one, called the "Blackadder Christmas Carol" that was from the UK. I also bought a series of "War & Peace" in three four-hour segments that was by the Tolstoy novel practically verbatim, but made in Russia... both of which wouldn't play in my US DVD player. Now, it doesn't matter where I get the movie, I can play it!!!

Just got the Samsung DVD player and the picture is good but I can't figure out all of the functions on the remote. Be aware that this DVD player comes with an instruction booklet that is written in ALL SPANISH. If you call Samsung for an English instruction manual, they will charge you $35.

This DVD player does NOT come ready to work right out of the box. You do have to do some tweaking to get it to work. Also, it's noisy. Makes a squeaky noise while running. It's not a problem as long as you're watching something at the time because it's not that loud, but in a quiet room it's very annoying.

it works OK but the remote control is tiny tiny and very hard to figure out and the owner's manual is not much help. But one thing I like: if I pause for a long time, after a while the TV screen turns off.

For those of us who occasionally want to watch DVDs from other region code areas, this is a sensibly priced DVD player that will play DVDs from all the regions in the world.

It does what I bought it to do: plays my PAL DVD and my old NSTC ones as well. In fact -- though I cannot be quite sure about this -- I THINK the NSTC ones look a little better and clearer than on my old player. It is lightweight, easy to handle and transport, and once I made a thorough examination of my TV set, it was easy enough for even a non-expert like me to hook up.

The manual was in Spanish only and there were no cables included. My fault I supposed. Had to find the English manual online. Not hard to find.

This DVD player is easy to use, comes with a well-designed remote and produces a sharp picture. I'm very satisfied with its quality and design, and also by Amazon's shipping process.
