Well made for the price.

All blades are under 3 inch long which makes it legal to carry in the UK. However the knife blade automatically locks (liner lock) meaning it is not legal to carry in the UK ( same law applies to saw blade possible????)Knife blade (very sharp) , saw, corkscrew, bottle opener, scissors all open very easily. File opens fairly easy. Can opener, awl and rope cutter very difficult, I can't do them by hand. Philips screwdriver, push it's liner lock out of the way and it's easy to flip open.Saw blade touches bottle opener when closing which will damage paint finish on bottle opener. You can move opener out of way 1st or push saw blade to side when closing. Those reviews noting loose/ tight blades or liner lock failure, check the hex screws holding blades, they are easily tightened/loosened. I'd recommend removing them and applying thread lock if you're capable.Screwdriver attachments should be provided with the adaptor which fits to the Philips screwdriver. The scissors are amazing large and sharp, by multitool / pen knife standards.Good solid holster. Seperate pocket for screwdriver attachments. Added a Hex key for knife screws, just in case req and something to lever open those 3 difficult blades. If you require to make this UK carry legal theirs room to cut out the sprung part of the liner lock ( where the holes are at split) then make sure blade screws are tight enough. It's difficult to find a UK carry legal multi tool with a knife blade ( and most have one) unless the multi tool is very small. Most have liner locks and of course are non UK brands and not manufacturerd in UK.

Comparison - Roxon S801S Storm/Strom versus S802 Phantom

If, like me, you're looking for a pliers-type multitool with an actually decent pair of scissors, Roxon are the only game in town. I needed a replacement for a stolen Leatherman Wave, so I decided to order both and do a little comparison.First up, the 801 is the 'S' updated version, so some issues in earlier reviews you may find have been fixed. For example, the saw blade has been given a locking mechanism, and the position of the can opener has been moved for a better action.Overall they are both reassuringly solid, well-built tools. Both are quite large, but the 802 is a little bulkier. Ignore the stated weight; the 801 weighs 312g without case (though the screwdriver bits will add a little) and the 802s weighs 302g. The later 802 has a slightly nicer and smoother action, and looks/feels a little more refined, but there's little difference once you get used to them.In terms of tools, the 801 is just better equipped. I find the file, cord cutter, bottle opener and adaptable screwdriver bit much more useful than the chisel and very flat Philips driver on the 802. The corkscrew is a bit of a waste of space since most wines nowadays are screw-tops, but I would pick up a Victorinox mini screwdriver (£3-5 on ebay) to store in it.The 802's swappable blade system works well, but the designers made a lot of sacrifices for it. The default blade is larger than the 801, and I found the 'tanto' design quite hard to control for precision cutting due to the weight of the tool. I picked up the 3-blade pack for £20 with the Stanley craft knife attachment, which is very clever and works well, although it does stick out from the tool and interferes slightly with the pliers action. If I were keeping the 802 (spoiler alert) I would probably swap between the craft knife and flat blade that also came with the pack, and never use the tanto again. One spare blade case will fit - just - in the knife sheath, much like the screwdriver bits on the 801.Finally, the scissors on both are very good for light to medium use, and cut fabric and cardboard cleanly. A slight edge goes to the 802 for a better action and lockable handle, and because a few 801 owners have reported the metal catch on the scissor action can snap off if used heavily. In conclusion, hope that was useful to you if you're weighing up the 801 and 802. I ultimately chose to go with the 801 for the slightly better price and the greater range of tools it offers, but both are good kit and well worth the price.

solid build but maybe too solid

Good build, everything is solid and tight.I like the tool selection, and that most tools are accessible when the kit is folded. My biggest issue is 4 of the tools are impossible to pull out with just your nails: can opener, box opener, rope cutter, and philips screwdriver. And it's unnecessary. This corner on the base of the tools is too sharp. All they have to do is smooth it out a bit.

A bit chunky, but very handy.

Had this for a couple of weeks now. I bought it to replace my Swiss multitool that I've had for 23 years.... This roxon is a dandy bit of kit. Scissors are big and worth having, blade is fine, saw is fine, screw heads are fine. I have this on my belt as an all day carry at work. Blade is a one hand opening so is perfect when you need to hold something and need to access a blade. I was surprised how good it is and costing half the price of my Swiss multitool.

Robust product

This is a strong usefull tool especially the scissors, the knife is a useful shape and very sharp, keeps its edge well. The screw driver bits were missing on arrival but I spoke to Roxon and the sent them out immediately so I have no issues, great customer service, thank you Roxon

Neat, solid piece of kit.

This is a very solid piece of equipment. Some have remarked on its weight, but it has to be solid to be effective. I've attached this to a belt using the provided pouch and its not heavy enough to cause any bother. In the short time I've owned it I've used most of the accessories, from cutting off a (albeit small) tree branch to opening a bottle and it simply exudes quality and workmanship. The cutters and pliers are arranged in such a way that they are just as good as any quality item designed for that sole purpose. My only niggle has been around the locking flaps (for want of a better term). A little fiddly to unlock, and you'll need strong fingernails to do that. But, for me, not a big deal. I guess these things should never be flimsy, so forgivable.
