Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath Nintendo Switch

This is actually my third time buying Stranger's Wrath. I bought it originally on Xbox long ago, then on the Switch, and this third time as a gift, and it's a game that really holds up.You play as the mysterious bounty hunter known as 'the Stranger' as you try to collect enough money to receive a life-saving surgery. Though it's not going to be easy... (Narratively. The game isn't too insanely hard, but the difficulty does increase the further you get into the game). It's sort of a mix of third and first person and the gameplay largely involves laying traps and ambushing enemies. Of course you can run in guns blazing, but be aware that you will be putting yourself in the line of fire. There are also platforming elements. The good kind! Not the annoying kind.I won't spoil anything about the story, but it is really good. The cutscenes and the environments have also held up really well considering this is nearly a twenty year old game. I'd check out a gameplay video to make sure it's your kind of game- and if it is, go for it!

This game is awesome! Love it!

First the good stuff, the game looks great in HD. It retains everything that made it a classic. Innovative gameplay with tons of imagination put into the characters, the world, story, weapons etc. One of the best things about this game is how unique and funny it is. As with most Oddworld games, it is truly unique in the way it delivers it's story and content. The pacing of the story is excellent except for a little lull in the back half of the game, but there are some nice twists and changes of pace in the gameplay that make it an absolute blast to play through. Load times are also noticeably better than older versions.Now, the bad stuff. The frame rate dips occasionally, this is more noticeable in handheld mode. The controls have not been overhauled for a more crisp feel on modern day consoles. So expect a little bit of wonkiness with camera and weapon control/accuracy. Hopefully, they address one or both of these issues in an update. The controls & camera doesn't hurt the experience that much, but it is noticeable at times with this game being 15 years old.If you have never played Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, it is a must play. It's a one of a kind experience and you won't find any other game like it. Really happy that this game got a Switch port.

Got the Abe one and now this one, I love the oddworld games, I just need the munch one. I never played this one but it looks like an old west shooter game with an oddworld twist and that’s awesome.

I loved this game on the original Xbox and now I can play it anywhere on my switch. The don't make games like this much now, so this is definately a must have!

There are games that look good on paper or in preview videos but end up being total trash when you finally play! This is one of those games. It’s a slow and boring buildup and no clear storyline. I have a stack of games that didn’t live up to the hype and this is going in that stack. You’ll enjoy it for maybe one hour!
