Great buy, great products!
I own and regularly use numerous Eagle Creek packing cubes and compression cubes. I wanted to purchase the extra large envelope so I purchased the set which included the envelope and two additional cubes. First, the zippers on the cubes are great. Have used my cubes routinely for several years without issues…even when packed extra full. I especially liked the older version that opened wider but find the newer ones work well. The extra large envelope was perfect for packing a formal length dress wrinkle free. I did not have to check an extra long garment bag.

Would have been great to get all the pieces!
I bought this set ahead of an international trip after my old cheap packing cubes had begun to break down. I really love the folder style, and it's amazing how much you can fit in the other two cubes even without them technically being compression cubes. (I think the secret is the zipper only going partially around the third side, so you can get it zipped when it's stuffed to the brim and it will hold things in pretty snugly.)Unfortunately, my set came *without the folding board*. I thought something was off when I opened the garment folder envelope and the only rigid board I saw was fully sewn in, but I wondered if I'd just misunderstood what was included. I followed the instructions on the folder using the plastic base to fold items around, and it seemed to work well enough, and I didn't have time for a return before my trip started. When I was back in the country and able to reach out to Amazon, the automated system did not let me send any sort of message at all, only informing me that I was ineligible for a return. I used the item, so I don't want to return it, of course, but it's a shame to have paid full price for a set that was missing a core component of the marquee item.

Where Have These Been All My Life?
My sister in law has used these for years and I always felt that I have my own system and didn't need these. I am now packing for Africa and have to pack in a duffle bag, which is never ideal to prevent wrinkles, and a weight limit. I decided to finally go with her recommendation and give these a try. Wow. I am in love. Especially with the shirt folder. The set is incredibly light weight so I don't have to worry about it adding extra weight to my limit. The smaller bags will hold rolled items that I can organize by use like undergarments in the very smallest and rolled t-shirts, etc in the mid-sized bag. Bear in mind that these are NOT compression cubes! The shirt folder is ingenious. It includes a board with instructions for how to fold your shirts precisely to fit and to avoid wrinkles. You then use the board when you arrive to slip between layers to expose the shirt you want to wear without disturbing the others above and below. I may never do without this again, even when packing in my regular suitcase.

I will always use packing cubes now!
I purchased this 3-piece Specter Starter Set along with a 2-piece set of TRIPPED compression cubes for my recent 16-day coach tour of Scotland and Ireland. I had never used packing cubes of any kind before and wanted a variety. I ended up loving all 5 pieces. One of my favorites was the Eagle Creek folder, which was the perfect size for 5 pairs of pants. I hadn't thought I could fit that many in my luggage, but this was such an efficient way of packing that they took up way less room than fewer pairs had taken on previous trips. These cubes were especially great since we stayed at 9 different hotels, often arriving late and leaving early. It was wonderful to pull out just whichever units I needed (I organized them by category). Using these cubes made my initial packing much easier also, since it broke it down into small tasks (just pack the pants now, just pack the tops, etc.). The cubes themselves didn't seem to take any extra room, and being so organized helped me fit more into my luggage and access it all much more easily. I am so glad a friend recommended these; they made my trip immeasurably easier. I watched some videos on packing these (including the folder), and they were very helpful. Overall I thought the compression cubes were slightly better, and I might get more of those--or possibly a different size of the amazing folder.

Larger Folder was the Highlight
I took this on a backpacking trip through Europe. The larger folder was by far the highlight of what was included in this starter pack. My clothes had some wrinkles, but overall it fit far more than I anticipated and this became my primary storage for clothes over the course of my trip. The two bags that are included have cheap zippers that are easy to break, especially if you are potentially overstuffing the bags. The material on the outside feels cheap, too, and like it would easily tear.

Why didn’t I get these sooner?
I read a travel blog about a couple that travelled the world for a year after retirement. They did it with a back pack and a carry on roller bag. And she explained how she used these packing cubes and she swore by them. So I got them and I am so glad I did. I fit my clothes for a week’s holiday in Hawaii in these. And they fit so nicely in my rolled carry on bag and made it possible to put other items in the carry on. And I love that I just lift out the cubes and my clothes are all there! Thank you!!!
