A few install tips would have helped...
I installed this on a 2006 Dodge Caravan SXT with stow-n-go seating. I can say that it's a perfect fit for the vehicle.I did learn a couple things that, had I known them from the start, would have made things a bit easier. I started by backing the van up onto ramps in my garage. Access to the bolts was easy and they came out with no problems. It probably helps that though I live in the Northeast, I purchased the van in Florida with little to no rust. Once the bolts were out, I began trying to lift the hitch into place. After an hour or so of fighting with it, trying to prop up one end with jackstands as I pried on the other end, and generally trying to figure out why it just wouldn't fit, I finally took a break and looked up the Amazon reviews. Several reviews mentioned jacking up the body and supporting with jackstands instead of just driving up on ramps. Apparently that was the trick.I went back out the garage, drove off the ramps, and propped up the rear body with jackstands, allowing the axle and springs to hang down about 10" from their normal position. I couldn't see it when the van was up on the ramps, but once the axle dropped, the leaf springs sagged down and the position of the rear spring hangers changed considerable. Once this was done, I was able to wiggle the hitch up into place. It was still a tight fit, but once it was up, it fit perfectly.A couple reviews have complained the the instructions listed the wrong bolt size. I believe that the instructions are referring to the thread diameter - 10mm and 12mm. I needed a 16mm and 18mm socket to remove the bolts.A couple other reviews mentioned the hitch being off measurement-wise by 1/2". Right before I got the hitch pried the final step into place, I really thought that mine was off by 1/2" also. But once I pried it past the final lip, it was a perfect fit. I'm not saying that the other hitches weren't defective, I'm just pointing out that I needlessly worried about it.It's five-stars for me. Yes, it's a tight fit and a bit more difficult to install. But there's very little room under these vans due to the stow-n-go system. I think Curt did a great job of making a hitch that fits perfectly, and of selling it at a very reasonable price. This was my third Curt reciever (and I also have their bike carrier) and I've always been very happy with their products.

How to make this work for a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT with stowaway seats
4 out of 5 stars because this hitch could only be described as "sort of" made for my make and model despite being claimed as such.2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT with stowaway seats.Successfully installed. Time taken: 3.5 hours. If I'd known what to do from the beginning probably 45 mins.Steps:- Parked car on decline.- Jacked car up. Put jack stands on both sides to keep it up, about 1ft in front of rear wheel wells.- Sprayed liquid wrench up on the bolts (not sure it penetrated much ...)- Removed all bolts from the car.- Using someone else to help, held up the hitch in place, saw that the right side contacted the right leaf spring, preventing it from moving forward enough for the 18mm bolt hole to line up. Also observed that the hitch wasn't wide enough to clear a part of the car frame and slide up into place (was about 2mm off).- Using a grinder, ground some of the metal off the hitch in that spot where it contacted the leaf spring so that it cleared the leaf spring holding bracket (took off about 1mm).- Installed the hitch on the right side, but kept those bolts only finger tight- Jacked up the left edge of the trailer hitch so that all the weight of the car was bearing down upon the trailer hitch, trying to get the stubborn left side to pop into place (was hung up on a small ledge of the car frame underneath). Ended up hitting the hitch with a sledgehammer, from the right, and it popped into place.- Took a look from underneath and now observed that the left-side 3 15mm bolts lined up fairly well, but the 18mm one did not yet.- Keeping trailer hitch jacked up, and wheels off the ground, hit the trailer hitch repeatedly until the left side 18mm bolt hole almost lined up (was about 1mm off).- 18mm hole wouldn't come to line up all the way, so I decided to put the 18mm bolt in and periodically make sure it wasn't going in cross-threaded, hoping it would pull the hitch into place. Worked.- Tightened up all bolts.- Drank homemade wine cooler consisting of 750ml white wine, 1 gallon water (ideally carbonated), 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup lemon juice, pinch of salt. Add ice.

Professionally installed, additional effort required
Had mine professionally installed on my 2006 Dodge Caravan with stow-and-go. Evidently, something bent slightly in shipping (not noticed by me, but a show-stopper during installation), but they were able to correct it in the shop (at the expense of more labor). I paid for 2 hours labor total. Once on, it looks great. I should add that I called Curt product support and got great help right away. My installer was able to call and get info needed to verify and finish the job. Obviously I wish there had not been an issue, but all in all I am very happy with the now-installed hitch, glad that I did not have to do a return, and glad that I opted to have a professional handle it. Seller was good communicator, and although I wish I could have gotten a bit of help on the additional labor, I understand that doing a return/replacement is their only economical choice (however, for me, a return would have probably cost me more in the long run, since I owed labor on the first try no matter what, plus no guarantee a replacement would not go thru the same issue as the first). So: have it professionally done, look up Curt phone support ahead of time, and budget for 2 hours labor. For those who got it done in half an hour without a snag, more power to ya.
