FIFTEEN CENTS PER PENCIL!? WHOA BABY!
I'm going to address the BAD first, and then go on to say why I think these are STILL worthy of 5 stars even with the flaws.. (hint..part of the title)1. About 10 pencils are bowed slightly, however they sharpen fine2. Barrel colors is all over the map. You'll need to sort these by a scratch test, and you WILL NEED A COLOR CHART.3. About 6 pencils have a slight split in the "manufacturer" sharpened point. I was able to sharpen them out.4. Packaging is a nightmare. The trays pop pencils out, the carryall is flimsy, You're going to need a better case.5. A *few* lighter pencils are very dry and scratchy. Most are a very nicely pigmented medium/soft texture.6. VERY skimpy on the light blue shades, and solid orange shades.Okay. With that out of the way, let me tell you why these are still worth 5 stars, in my opinion.THE COLOR SELECTION IS THROUGH THE ROOF! With the exception of the above mentioned, the yellows, browns, greens, purples, pinks, reds - are insane! There are at least 3 pencils that can be used as a true red shade. Those of you that color lots of nature, scenery, caricature, and leafy pages are going to be in HEAVEN!FIFTEEN CENTS A PENCIL PEOPLE. I mean come on. You aren't going to get perfection when you are paying 15-20 cents a pencil. I wouldn't even expect that. HOWEVER. The quality of the COLOR, the smooth pigmented texture of the cores..for the most part far exceeds anything I have seen from Crayola, Arteza, and Feela, and that's actually pretty good for bargain pencils. No, you're not getting Prisma's or Poly's here. Yes, you are going to have a few flaws, maybe a few that will need a couple extra trips to the sharpener. But, what you have left after that, is still a HUGE AMOUNT of really nice QUALITY pencils!! If you can look past the flaws, and still recognise what a huge value these are, then BUY THEM! YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!P.S. To all the reviewers who complain about sharpening, and anyone considering these or other mid range/bargain pencils: Please buy an electric or battery operated sharpener. Bargain pencils WON'T BREAK if you use a quality motorized sharpener.

I'm pleasantly surprised
You can read my original review after my update. I purchased these pencils a long time ago and did set aside my Prismacolor Premier pencils to use these. After a while, I found a lot of imperfections. The big one is that a lot of the pencils don't seem to be mixed together thoroughly, e.g., while using a blue pencil, it will suddenly have streaks of violet in the lead.Needless to say, I no longer use these pencils and suggest spending a little more money for a better quality... unless, you're getting them for a kid or something. Also, I think I was in denial about each pencil being its own unique color, a lot of them look the same color, maybe for a slight difference. My original review:Just like my headline says, I'm pleasantly surprised by these colored pencils. I wanted to try an oil based color pencil, but couldn't afford the Fibercastell brand, I picked these colored pencils on the fact that there's 160 different colors AND the description actually says they are oil based. I really like these, the pigment is great and by pushing hard, I can actually fill in the teeth of the paper, where when I push hard with my Prismacolor pencils, they do not fill in all the teeth. Honestly, I put my Prismacolor pencils aside and decided to only use these for now. I am only a beginner and don't really know much about this stuff, but this is my 4th set of colored pencils (all different brands) that I've purchased and these might be my favorite. I should also mention that my Prismacolor colorless blender pencil seems to work with these, not dramatically like it does with its own brand, but I think that's a good thing to know. I found these are a little easier to erase too. I forgot to mention that they come with a DIY color chart, which is super awesome. I have a bit of OCD and my color pencils HAVE to stay in the exact order that they came in. This is the first color pencil I've purchased that does not have an example of the colors (in order) on the box and the numbering system on the pencils are not helpful for THIS issue.

If you are not a "Youtube" color pencil snob, these are perfecto! Get these!
If you like a cross between Prismacolor premier and Arteza type colored pencils. If you cannot afford Prismas, this is a place to start. Disclosure: I do not like PrismaColored pencils AT ALL. I swear...I am the only lonely person on he island of "non-prisma" fans. I don't get it....back to the matter at hand. Love the variety of colors, love that there are pastels in here, they sharpen and blend nicely. Strudy, good quality. A bargain I would say. I will add that I am NOT a artist. I am just your basic coloring book 30-something year old. Sometimes I color..well..a..decent and other times like a toddler. These glide nice. If you are just starting out coloring or need a higher grade color pencil, snatch these!

Compared with Prismacolors for coloring...
These are about 90% as good as Prismacolors in my opinion. They are not as soft as Prisma's, nor as hard as Verithins, but I like that actually. You can get a finer line then Prisma's but can also do large areas unlike the Verithins. The set arrived in what looked like good condition, only one pencil had a chip in it. The colors are in the trays like the product picture, which made no sense to me so I reorganized them by color (photo). There is a chart but it doesn't hold 168 colors. There are no repeats per se, but some are so close you'd swear they were. They blend easily with the Prismacolor blender tool I have. They layer great. They sharpen with the Faber-Castell trio grip sharpener but I have had a problem with the lead of three of them breaking off during sharpening, two of which only had to be resharpened once, but the third did it over and over again. They erase with a Faber-Castell eraser.Overall, I love them and will be using these instead of the massively expensive Prismacolors and Verithins for coloring.

Not what is in picture
In the pictures it had Guang Hui written on the pencils, but this is Brutfuner. As far as I can tell from my search on the internet, this is 2 separate companies. The pencils crumble. It seems like many duplicate colors. The color on the barrel doesn't always match the lead, and the number on the pencil doesn't match Gang hui numbers. I am returning these. I feel like I've been deceived.

GOOD BUY
These pencils are excellent quality. Will definitely buy them again. They are better than some of the pencils I have paid £150 for. The leads are very soft and smooth.
