Precise and intuitive

It does exactly what it advertises—cuts circles, and does it well. If I selected a 5 11/16 hole on the jig, it yields that measurement, which is perfect for countersunk speaker drivers. It doesn't fit the Makita XTR01Z LXT router, but I knew that before purchasing. Instead of complaining on the reviews, I just simply drilled new countersunk holes.I've never used a circle jig before, and this took zero effort to figure out the first time—line up the inch, align it with the fraction, and as long as you use a 1/4" straight bit, you'll get perfect measurements every time.As for price, yes, it's a tad on the expensive side, but you're not just paying for plastic—you're paying for the precision. Try making an easy to use, and adjustable jig accurate to 1/16 of an inch. It's still cheaper than buying a whole bunch of hole saws.

Precise and Simple to Use

Precision at its best! After having a company use their CNC machine to cut out some holes in some expensive plywood and creating a mess I ordered the Jasper Pro. Twelve perfect holes later my project is now moving along more smoothly. And for about the same price as the two I had done by “professionals”. NICE!!!

Works as advertised, but very fiddly to use

I'm new to woodworking so I don't have anything to compare this to so I don't know if other hole-cutting jigs work as well or worse.I read a lot of the reviews so I knew to avoid overtightening it when attaching to the router and not to lift the jig off of the alignment pin at an angle. The fiddly part comes from getting the alignment pin into the center hole. The jig is mounted with all of the markings on the bottom so you have to put it in from the bottom, then turn the jig over aligning the pin. The pin is a slip fit when the jig is new, and it gets loose as you use a hole. After a while, the pin just falls out of the jig when you turn the jig over to mount it. When cutting larger holes, you can mark the hole on the top of the jig and you can hold the pin with one hand while you mount the jig, but you can't do that with the smaller holes.

Works great, will not break if router falls from table to concrete floor

Using this circle cutting jig with my Ryobi R165 router (not a plunge router). Technically, this jig should only work with plunge routers and there are only two Ryobi routers that work with this jig, but I happen to have an interposer adaptor to fit the R165 to a routing table and it by luck the adaptor has two attachment points that match the holes on this jig. Next, I have bits that can be used in lieu of a plunge router if the depth is less than 1cm, otherwise I need to pre-drill a hole for the router bit to cut deeper than 1cm (not an issue if I had a plunge router). Been cutting holes for speaker drivers with no issue using this jig. Finally, accidently knocked the router+jig off the work table on to a concrete floor, it hit hard but no cracks and no damage!

Another speaker builder

Holes are precise enough; may be my router that is not completely rigid that makes for slight inconsistencies. Has saved me time and has encouraged me to do more innovative designs with wave-guides routed into 1.5" thick speaker baffles, using the Jasper made holes as indexes for round over bits. I rear-mount driver into carefully calculated recess, to make shallow and gradual flare after using 1" and 1.25" round-overs with a second (15amp) router. I think it is totally the way to go to buy the polycarbonate version.

Hard to identify router compatability

A laser-cut piece of plexi surely isn't worth $50, but I took that bait and traded expense for my time. That being said, I tried to research if this jig would fit my router and found this information hard to come by. It should be easy and should be directly linked to this listing on Amazon.. but it's not. Instead of helpful information, we get a bunch of marketing hoopla and claims of awesomeness that simple don't play out when you receive the product. As others have said, it's upside down, clumsy to use, and (in may case) doesn't even fit my router which is a DeWalt DWP611. I'm past return now, so not much I can do other than to hope that it might fit my older and less used Porter Cable router. Profit over quality on this one... for $50 it ought to be made of aluminum and laser engraved on the topside. A useful tool and an innovative design, but poor execution IMO. It's the only game in town right now, but maybe that'll change.

Extreme quality

I bought this circle cutting jig to make seven arch pieces for a clock I'm making that has a rounded top, and the arch pieces must be cut very accurately to fit properly. This jig was easy to set up and use, and was very precise in cutting the pieces from 1/2" stock. This jig is used with the plunge base for a Dewalt 618 router.
