Finally fixed the annoying clunk on the rear!
I’ve had an annoying clunk in the rear of my 97 Toyota Avalon ever since I got it 5 years ago. Slightest bump and you hear a clunky sound in the rear of the car. I replaced the rear struts and didn’t fix a thing. Climbed under the rear of the car and just started grabbing different parts until something felt loose. The rear sway bar had some play in it. So just on Amazon to look for a new sway bar. Couldn’t find one so figured I’d try replacing the bushings. Sprayed the bolts down with penetrating oil. Then when the new bushings came in. I took the old ones off and sure enough they were wallowed out. About an extra 1/4” of play in them. Out on grease on the new bushings and reinstall them. Took for a test drive. Finally no more noise. Just a great riding Toyota like it should be. Best part only an $8 fix.

Eliminated the Clunk
Installed on my 2001 Camry, that had a clunking in rear with every bump. Fit perfectly and no more clunking. The toughest part of job was loosening the original bolts, just sprayed them up good with penetrating oil and turned slowly. Happy with this purchase and easy repair!

Cheap and good quality
Took me around 8 mins to install on 00’ ES300, rear rattles are now gone. Cheap, but good quality.

close to perfect
I really don't know whether replacing these bushings fixed the little noise I used to hear on the highway. But they're a frequent source of such squeaking, and they do harden up with time. Replacing them was easy-peasy. You DON'T have to jack up the car first, contrary to what some YouTubers show. Just unbolt the clip, slide the old ones out, slide the new ones in, and bolt up the clip. I smeared a little white lube on, just for grins, but they're OK without it. The bushings themselves are a perfect match for OEM. I'm completely happy.

'Clunk' in the trunk? These might fix it!
The clunky sound coming from the rear of my car while driving over bumps or rough roads turned out to be worn sway bar bushings. They were easy to swap out and now there's no more clunk in my trunk.

Check with manufacturer not amazon
Item did not fit my 2003 highlander even though Amazon had it as a match. I ended up just cutting it down to fit the bracket that was one the car.

Fit my 2009 FWD V6 Venza
Amazon and just about everywhere else said these rear sway bar bushings didn't fit the Venza. But after a bunch of search through part number cross references, they looked like a match. Fixed the clunking noise.
