Brilliant book to expand practice for budding saxophone players. Really well transcribed tunes. Would suggest best for intermediate players and above.

Fabulous book !I think this volume 2 is better than volume 1 in that it has manyballads....which are slower and easier to play for regular non-musical geniusessuch as myself.The price of $22 dollars is a steal.Also, the great majority of the songs transcribed can be found on just 2 collections of CDs: The Studio Chronicles of 1940-1948 and the Verve Studio Master Collection. This is very convenient !One shortcoming, however, is that the plastic comb is a bit too narrow for the number of pages.I think this collection is superb.

Das neue Charlie Parker-Omnibook ist sorgfältiger gemacht als das ursprüngliche und beinhaltet wohl - dank neuer Technologie bei der Analyse von Tonaufnahmen - weniger Fehler. Toll ist auch, dass neu viele Standards enthalten sind. Die Stücke enthalten viele vorgegebene Vorzeichen,(z.B. 4#), was zusammen mit den zahlreichen zusätzlichen Vor- und Auflösungszeichen das Lesen ziemlich erschwert.H.U. Bühler, Schweiz.
