Worked ...........
I had the older usb 2.0 front panel device in my Corsair obsideon 800D tower. This replacement 3.0 usb device worked as intended.

What I expected was a USB 3. 0 kit ...
What I expected was a USB 3.0 kit with the two USB 3.0 ports located at the top/front of my Corsair Obsidian 800D PC case ending with a single cable having one 20-pin connector, this 20-pin connector connecting to a 20-pin connector on the motherboard (19-pins used to ensure "keyed" orientation when connecting the cable to the motherboard). What Corsair ships is a kit with two individual type 'A' USB 3.0 cables that the user must snake through grommets at the rear of the PC case, the cables then connected to two USB 3.0 ports at the chassis rear I/O panel. The USB 3.0 specification with its higher data speed means shorter maximum allowed USB 3.0 cable lengths. Corsair's solution with its longer USB 3.0 cables snaked to the chassis rear I/O panel reduces what's left for total USB 3.0 cable lengths for the user to connect cables to the USB 3.0 ports at the top/front of the Corsair Obsidian 800D PC case.

Its a straight up ghetto mod and likely not worth your time and especially money
Was not expecting a ghetto mod from Corsair. This unit does NOT use the USB 3.0 headers on your motherboard, instead it wants you to run multiple long fat cables from the front ports through your case ,loop them out the back of the case through the water cooling ports, then plug the cables into 2 rear USB ports on the back of your motherboard........NO!! I bought this to ADD USB 3.0 ports, not ghetto mod my rears into fronts. IMO extension cables would be a much cleaner solution as you can easily remove them and not have extra cable in and looping out the back of the case that aren't easy to remove and reinstall. This is an anger inducing product and they should clearly state what it is in the description, the cases these are meant for are high end and quite pricey, I wouldn't believe this joke of a product if I didn't buy it and see it....
