Shimano SH-RP2 Women's Touring Road Cycling Synthetic Leather Shoes, Black, 39

SOOOOO happy I found these shoes. I just started taking spin classes, and my studio offers complimentary shoe rentals. I thought it was great that I wouldn't have to buy my own... until I tried them on for the first time. They have Pearl Izumi, and I couldn't even get my foot in the shoe. I tried the next size up, and I could get it on but I still felt like I was wearing children's shoes, they were so narrow. And I don't even wear a wide in normal shoes!! After one class with numb feet I reluctantly started searching for a pair that was not too expensive but seemed like it worked for people with "wide" feet. I crossed my fingers and ordered the Shimano SH-RP2 in a 41 (I typically wear 8.5 women's). They are PERFECT. The velcro opens enough to get your foot in comfortably, you can loosen or tighten as much as needed, and the toe box is nice and roomy. I purchased Delta clips separately on Amazon and attached them myself without issue. My friend purchased these shoes as well, and she has narrow feet so the Pearl Izumis worked fine for her, but she likes these more so I would say they work great for any width foot.

I'm a spin instructor and needed new shoes ASAP. They got delivered amazingly fast and are worth the money.My only issue: I have very narrow feet, so I thought these would be good- no sliding- but the toes of these shoes are so tight, my toes go numb halfway through the class. I've had to leave the bottom velcro strap undone and have the middle one not all the way pressed down, so that my feet aren't numb. I've never had an issue like that with spin shoes before these, but once I didn't close down the bottom velcro strap, it's fine.Also- they do NOT come with the cleats needed, I recommend buying the Shimano brand ones. Amazon is going to try and sell you the cheaper pair, from an off brand site, just say no. Spend the extra money on the cleats that are made for the shoe. The cheap one will explode off (prior experience) after one class.

Does the job and for a great price. I wear Nike Womens 8 and the 40 fits perfectly, with a little wiggle room for my toes. Clips are easy to install, make sure you crank them in pretty tight.

Ordered a size 37 per the size chart, which states 37 European = 6.5 US. Shoe arrived 37 European and 5.5 US. Had to return. Buy a size or two larger than what the size chart states.

Good shoes for Soul Cycle

I needed to replace my Peloton-branded shoes, and I wanted to try a highly-rated shoe at a better price point. I love these Shimanos! I wear an 8 1/2 medium and a 40 in the Peloton shoes. The Shimano size chart recommended a 41 in this shoe, and they fit perfectly, despite looking longer than the Pelotons. I suggest ordering up a size from what you wear in Peloton shoes, but I found this size chart to be accurate. The Shimanos have more arch support than the Pelotons and are a bit harder to get on due to the Velcro closings. (They may loosen up over time.). I find them to be very comfortable and it’s harder to twist the cleats out of alignment when you unclip—a GOOD thing!

I am a standard size 8 and never have problem fitting into that size. The size 41 fit perfectly. This is also the size I’ve worn in soul cycle so if you rent shoes take a look at the size your receive. I imagine if you are imbetwen sizes it would be better to size up since you can just tighten with the Velcro straps.Also used with delta look cleats and it was easy to install. There is also holes for the spd system.

I'm so excited to have these shoes for my indoor spin classes. I have worn similar Shimano styles rented from studios before and was pleased to find these at such a great price. I am a women's size 10 in running shoes (Brooks GTS), and the 43s in this shoe fit me perfectly, including a bit of space in the toe box so they won't cramp. I'll get them fitted with SPD clips at a local bike shop and be on my way!
