Stops my escape artist but rubs his skin raw
I was happy when I first put this on my little escape artist because it fits well...the sizing on this harness is appropriate. I've bought others that were too big even when following the size chart. My little dog absolutely cannot back out of this harness, which is great, but after wearing it a couple weeks, it is rubbing his skin raw. It needs more padding on the straps. He has to wear it every time we go out, so, unfortunately, I'm going to have to find something else. I also didn't rate it perfect under sturdiness because the plastic clips seem a little flimsy. If my dog were bigger or stronger, I'd be afraid he would break out of it. I might see if I can still return it because it has to be painful for my little guy.

A halter that will hold Houdini dogs!
Love this halter. I take my dog on trail rides using a retractable leash while riding my horse. It is very important to me for him not to wiggle out. This is the first halter he has not been able to get out of. Excellent quality for the price.

Lightweight, plastic buckles, thin nylon not for all-day wear
I'm giving it 5 stars because I do think it was advertised correctly and it appears to be a decent quality item. My review is sort of a mixed bag though, and this might or might not work for your dog and here is why : It seems to be sewn well. I don't feel any sharp edges where it touches my dogs skin. My dog has a neck injury and we purchased this to be able to help her hold steady, as they do not make a lift that works with her body type. (She doesn't need a lot of physical support, it's more of a comfort measure that she knows we are with her when she walks on slick floors during her recovery.) She is a Great Dane that has a very deep chest and slender build, like a very large grayhound. Her chest is 36 inches around just behind her front legs and the xl size harness loosened out to fit her well. We are using this in conjunction with a Loobani dog sling (also purchased on Amazon) for her rear legs until she regains a regular more confident gait. She will be unable to wear a collar in the future so this will be used for supervised outings, mostly just for identification purposes and short walks. That being said, I think it will work for us and what we need it for BUT it is not by any means heavy duty. It is lightweight and would not be suitable for everyday all-day wear. It would take my dog one chomp to get through it if she felt like it and wasn't supervised. The nylon is strapping is thin and I have to imagine it would not last very long if used all-day every day. The one thing I do not like at all about this harness is that the buckles are plastic. I knew this going in, but there are not a lot of double H harness options for large dogs in our price range. If my dog felt better and suddenly decided to pull, I'm not 100% sure that this could restrain a dog of her size. It's just not heavy enough and I can't trust the plastic buckles. It would probably be perfect for a less stout dog like a grayhound or another thin bodied deep chested breed but it's like they didn't scale up the strength of the materials to the strength of the size of the dog they are trying to secure. The hardware that snaps to a leash on her back is metal and well made. I do like that the strap farthest down her back is removable. It made the whole thing much easier to adjust. ***Update*** 6 months later and it is still going strong. My dog has regained the majority of her mobility back and is now able to pull, sometimes pretty hard. I was initially concerned with the strength of the harness not being enough for her but I do trust it now to hold her. I think the way her weight is distributed when she wears it causes the majority of her pulling weight to be distributed to the metal fittings and the plastic ones are only used in the areas of lower stress. It has held up very well.

Size is not listed correctly
I was very excited to finally get this harness, as the size I needed (according to size chart) had been out of stock for weeks. When it arrived I pulled it out to try on my dog and discovered that I had to extend it out quite a bit even though her chest measurement was at the smallest number on the size chart for this size harness. Our pup is a 7 month old German Shorthaired pointer with a chest circumference of 24” so I ordered the large. I had expected it to fit through her being full grown with the amount of adjustment I expected it to have, now I’m not sure. And I don’t want to order the next size up in the event it will be too big to fit now. What I DO like is the fact that it has 3 straps spaced apart so that one is on the front chest area, one is around the rib cage and one goes towards the lower rib cage above the stomach. With a deep chested dog she was able to squirm out of other harnesses, but with that third strap being in an area smaller that her rib cage, she shouldn’t be able to escape this one! I just hope it fits her for a long time instead of only a short time because of the misrepresentation of size. It seems sturdy enough to last.

Don’t hesitate, buy this!!!
Love, love, love! This harness is absolutely amazing! It is perfect for my Sloughi puppies who are little Houdini’s and can get out of anything. We have so much more control, there is no slipping out of the harness, it is lite weight and we love the little bit of reflective on it. We followed the sizing guide and got our male Sloughi an XL in Orange and our female Sloughi a Large in Purple and they fit perfect. We love how the double H strap is completely removable it makes applying the harness easier with a wiggling puppy. We also love how you don’t have to pick up a paw and put it in the harness, the first strap just buckles in as well. It is comfortable enough for them to run jump and play in it as well. This is a MUST!!!!!!!!!

Perfect harness for escape artists
YES, finally a harness my 15 lb Boston Terrier can not back out of. Plus flank strap is positioned so it won’t rub against his plumbing. I really like it and feel it is good qualityThank you for making a safe harness for escape artists.

This harness got me out of a very muddy situation.
I tried this harness after my LuLu readily escaped from 3 other harnesses types. It's been 3 weeks now without an escape. Today while I was studying a downy woodpecker on a wetland observation platform LuLu decided to jump off the platform into the muddy water, about 2 feet below. Lying on my belly I was able to grab onto the harness and lift her back to safety.

Amazing for your escape loving Aussie!
The only harness my escape artist Aussie can’t get out off. So happy I found this after trying about 20 different “no-escape” harnesses that all let me down and my Aussie could escape within min. The extra strap makes a huge difference. My dog was a little irritated at first that she couldn’t just back out and run freely with us trying to catch her for an hour but it made our life a lot easier :D and now she doesn’t even try to escape anymore.
