Baby Dolittle - World Animals [VHS]

I've read the many negative reviews, but I can offer another perspective. This is my children's absolute favorite and they've been exposed to all of them. 4 out of my 4 children picked this one as their first choice whenever possible with Baby Einsteins. I actually purchased this DVD to replace our worn-out-to-the-point-it-doesn't-work VHS tape. It really can depend on what your children like. Mine giggle and talk during the puppet shows, sing along to "swimming in the deep blue sea" song and dance to a lot of the music. And these 4 children are 4 unique personalities... As an overall characteristic, they prefer the "old" Baby Einsteins (pre-Disney taking over the company) to any of the new ones. (Baby Noah was the "updated" animals version that you find a lot more available - they don't really like it at all).

First, I have to say that I never expected to be putting on TV for my 2 year old. That said, this is decent programming for little eyes. The content is excellent, with good word association with the pictures and video on screen. My son is totally captivated and loves to make animal noises while watching.Now to the down side: The manufacturing quality of the Baby Einstein DVD's seems to have serious issues. Our first copy of this DVD played to 24 min (out of about 26) then stops. Dead! can't fast forward, rewind, anything, without starting over (and watching the included advertisement for other Baby Einstein products which they will NOT let you FF through). We sent the disk back to Amazon, and their return process is better than I have seen to date, yet the new disk does the same thing at 22 min. This happens on several DVD players so I do not believe it is related to the player. I have subsequently heard from other owners that they have similar problems with this disk and others from Baby Einstein. The problem is not always at the end like on my copy, but disks that skip, stop or otherwise do not play correctly are inexcusable in a product that carries such a premium price.Bottom Line: Amazon will replace but is the inconvenience worth it?

I bought this when my now almost 4 yr. old granddaughter was around two, I think, maybe earlier. She absolutely LOVED to watch this with me. As she has gotten older, she continually asks to watch, "the animals." She is going to be four in January! It has been played many, many times and it is still going strong. You can't go wrong with Baby Einstein products. Now, my seven month old is watching it, too. I can't praise these DVD's enough!! Baby Einstein - World Animals

My son is almost 9 months and both of us loved this the first time we saw it. We also have Baby Neptune, Baby Galileo and Baby Mozart, but I like the World Animals best. Although he likes them all now, my son also took to this DVD quicker than the others. I think the footage of animals is just a bit more captivating than in the other DVDs. I think the song in the middle is great and my son bobs his head in rhythm to it.

The baby Einstein series is a cut above the usual infant videos.I purchased this along with the Baby Einstein - Numbers NurseryDVD for my 1 year old nephew. It is a thouroghly captivating video for the child and is actually tolerable (as much as is humanly possible) for adult viewing. This is not your fathers Barney video. I definitely recomend these videos for all children.

Bit disappointed with this buy, especially after reading some of reviews. It's quite well done but 30 mins of entertainment for this price is little bit too much. My little one doesn't want to watch it at all and I can't blame him. It's mainly puppets doing stuff with some classical music, no human voice (or very little)... few flashing images which only make sense with adult sat by and explain it.. didn't work for us. 2 stars as it came on time, working and well packed.

My baby loves this and I actually don't mind it either, even after several viewings, unlike most childrens' DVDs which are intensely annoying. The music is that "toy box" sound but it's still pleasant to listen to and there are lots of movies of live animals running around. I much prefer this one to the other Baby Einstein that we have (Baby Wordsworth), mainly because there are more clips of real things and fewer of baby toys in action.

My nearly one year old loves this dvd! She started watching it about once a week (when we needed to get something done so she needed to be distracted!) about a month ago and cannot get enough of it. She goes up to the tv and dances along with the music (swimming in the deep blue sea..stuck in my head now!) and gets so excited when the real animals come on - especially the monkeys. It's great for kids who loves animals like my daughter does and she also loves to see the little babies dressed in their animal suits! Would recommend it for sure and was a bargain at the price I paid.

Our little grand-daughter, aged two, is a Baby Einstein expert and has many of the dvd's but her favourite by far is World Animals - it captures the imagination and is beautifully filmed. Each animal is introduced as cartoon, real life image, toy and music to enhance. She has five different Baby Einstein dvd's and will ask for each at different times but World Animals is the one we most watch.I love this dvd - the images, the music, the funny side of it all. Animals sharing and caring, playing tricks on each other, being caring towards each other - super dvd as are all the Baby Einstein products.I do not approve of tv for children but I make an absolute exception when it comes to Baby Einstein. The dvd's are interesting, educational, fun, and never upset or disturb the child. Highly recommended!!

Had heard about this and how little ones love it. Was a little sceptical but I was proved wrong. From the first viewing 15 month old poppet loved it and has insisted on it ever since. She gets so excited when it's on and keeps her attention all the way through each and every time. She has also learnt animal names from it so all good. As an adult it's hard to see where the magic is but it certainly casts a spell on baby.
