Brother ScanNCut Online Activation Card, CAWLCARD1

As advertised, arrived on time & worked as stated. It's nice not having to save to a flash drive, eject it then install it into the machine just to use your files. With the click of your mouse you can send your files from your computer right to your cutting machine. I use the free scan n cut canvas program a lot and I just click & the files are right in my cutting machine, I think the price is a little high considering all you get is the ability to send your files easier. Wish it had come with some extra cutting files or something.

It was suggested that we purchase this to alleviate having to connect the cutter to a PC every time it needed to be used. Much easier than a cord since my wife can create something on the laptop and walk over and use it without plugging in a cable.

I recomened getting this card for the scan cute becouse the updates are sent to your machen . You dont have to look for them to know there out .you dont have to download them or move them with a jump drive. It makes updates easy.all you do is install when ready. But you dont have to buy it to use machen .

Logically I should give this 5 stars. It works and now provides the scan and cut the function that I honestly believe it should have included in the first place. If somebody didn't want their machine connected to internet, they could have purchased the scan and cut that doesn't connect to the internet. Oh well. Also. I wish that this code could have been emailed.

I read the reviews on this card and was a little nervous but forged ahead. I did not have any of the problems other had (thankfully because I am just tech savvy enough to get myself into more trouble). Get the card and have some help on standby if you are not confident with computer technology. I am having sooo much fun with the online aspect of the ScanNCut. You will not be disappointed.

Good product easy to set up, I hate you have to buy this but it’s better than paying monthly like the others.

Beware. The code that you get will not transfer to a new machine. I had to exchange my Scanncut because it was defective. I had expected to be able to use my Online Activation Card number on my replaced machine. It didn’t work. I emailed Brother’s customer service. When they finally responded, I was told that they couldn’t help me. Instead, I must go through Amazon to get a replacement card. Unfortunately, they responded the day after Amazon’s 30 day exchange window closed, so I’m SOL. I’m out 50 bucks through no fault of my own.Were it not for the ridiculous replacement policy, I would have rated this a 4. When you download a design from Scanncut canvas, you get to choose to either send it wirelessly to your machine, or download it to your computer. When you download it to your computer it always goes into your Downloads folder. Then, you have to transfer it to your flash drive, and then move your flash drive to your machine and then recall the design from your flash drive (I tried to use a USB cable instead of a flash drive, but was not able to get it to work). When you choose the wireless option, you can do it in one step. It is there waiting for you. The one problem with the wireless option is that you can only do one design at a time. It only knows the last one that you downloaded wirelessly.

Here's the reason for my rating on this card. First of all, it works perfectly as designed and is easy to set up your Brother ScanNCut with the Online Workspace. However, I find it ridiculous that after spending almost $300 to buy an electronic cutting machine, they gouge you for another $50 for an activation code that they could have included in the box for free, or built right into the machine. You do NOT need to buy this activation card if you only want to use the designs loaded on the machine, scan your own designs in or connect with your computer via a USB; you DO need it if you want to connect wirelessly.
