At Marmara, we take great pride in ensuring our delights are made from real fruit extracts and protein rich nuts. Our Turkish Delights are eaten as dessert or teatime treats. So, indulge your sweet tooth with fruity flavors or nutty morsels and share the delight! *Our Premium varieties consist largely of chopped almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel-like sweet treat; traditional varieties are often flavored with rosewater, orange, or lemon. The confection is often packaged and eaten in small cubes dusted with icing sugar or coconut to prevent clinging. In the production process, soapwort may be used as an emulsifier. It also gives the same texture and taste as marshmallows, but all vegetarian! The origin of our confection is known to be during the Ottoman Empire in the 1700s. The story is that the Sultan demanded his chefs to create a new dessert to have with his tea that was soft and chewy. They came up with the first ever Rose flavored Turkish Delight. It was soft and did not chip the Sultan's tooth, and so it became a lovely, sweet treat to enjoy.

Double roasted goodness
These are indeed double roasted pistachios. The treats are cut into perfect bite sized cubes that have a good amount of pistachio in them. I loved it--- even the tiniest cube had at least 2 chunks of pistachio. The first time I bit into one of these, I was immediately reminded of the black tapioca pearls in bubble tea--- slightly sweet, but just enough to register a light sweet and starch taste. Then as you chew more into them, more of the sweetness registers and the whole experience is amazing. The nuttiness of the pistachio combined with their crunch in a delightfully soft and chewy nougat. Once I opened the package, these were gone in less than 3 hours. Easily the most addicting out of all the flavors. Will be buying these again!

They were really good and the pieces were bite size
So unfortunately these were suppose to be gifts, and the packaging they came in did not protect the boxes. They arrived dented to THE T. Since the plastic wrapping was still somewhat sealed we tried this kind, I ordered 3. They were really good and the pieces were bite size. My only complaint is their packaging. This is not a phone cord, its sweets have some more priority in wrapping and shipping.

Didn't have right consistency
It wasn't my favorite. I was recently in Greece and had Turkish Delight for the first time. I loved it. I was not able to find any locally, so I looked to Amazon. When I received it, it was a bit hard and was not very much for the price paid. At first I assumed that this was the quality that I was to expect for Turkish Delight in the US. I have since ordered another brand online and it was fresh and soft. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't order it again.

Be prepared to eat the entire box!
I can't quite put into words how good this flavor is -- last night as I was getting ready to watch an episode of one of my shows on the DVR, my dad walked in and asked what I was eating. Long story short, I'll now have to order him a separate box! This is by far my favorite flavor of Marmara Turkish Delight. The pistachio flavor is so authentic and doesn't taste a bit artificial. I enjoy the melody of the swirly jelliness of the Turkish Delight combined with the nutty crunch of the roasted pistachios. There's just nothing like it!

Not worth it!
The image on the box is misleading, there are hardly any pistachios in the box. The candy is stale and definitely does not worth the price, you are paying for the fancy box.If you want quality, pay extra and get either Divan or Hacibekir Turkish Delights. At the lower end, Hazer Baba, and Koska are acceptable for the price.
