Worth every penny
Works wonderfully. It was like drilling through butter. I tried two other drills and had no match to this one and for the price it did every that we needed to. I think mine was used but for 76 dollars it’s worth every penny.

Breaks Stucco!
This tool worked well for breaking open stucco to access some pipes to replace. The rotary hammer is a bit unergonomic due to its size and weight, as well as the vibration, but it is inexpensive and does the job, as well as being a reputable brand.

Hitachi Rotary Hammer
Prior to my actual purchase of this tool I did extensive research on other brands that were in the same price range and this one seemed to have better reviews along with better performance. In actual use it performed as expected especially in the hammer/drill mode in drilling holes in concrete. Very quick, smooth and little, if any vibration through the handle. In switching to the hammer only mode with a flat spade bit it did only an adequate job of breaking up concrete thus it is by no means a substitute for a true demolition hammer. The one thing that I didn't appreciate is that Hitachi has too many models that appear to be very similar in appearance and in the same price range. It made it difficult to actually determine exactly which model I really wanted to purchase

Great drill if you can get one that works.
These drills, when they work, are some of the best you can buy. However finding one that is working when bought is hard. I bought this one as well as two others a little over three years ago. This one was a spare and never opened, which is on me because of the other two both had issues. Anyway, opened the box today and the best it could do was vibrate - certainty no hammering going on. Which is on me because that is the exact same issue I had with one of the other two (the third just smoked a bit and tripped the breaker.). Anyway, after some back and forth I finally received working replacements for two of them but, having been packed for a move, I never tested this one. With the previous two the only reason I wound up with new ones it was due to Amazon, most certainly NOT Hitachi. In closing, these drills will outperform anything else comparable if you can get past the terrible initial quality control.

Not durable enough to remove 25 sq ft of tile.
I cant believe I am the only 1 star review. I purchased this to break some tile up off a concrete slab in a foyer that measures 5'x5'. half way through the job the tool started to heat up, then the handle grip that is made of plastic softened from the heat and would slip off. When the job was 3/4 finished it stopped hammering effectively and began spitting oil out. Tool would not release my 30$ bit and was unusable. Amazon's response was 5 star, prepaid shipping label and full refund. After closer inspection the white/gray business end of the tool is plastic, even though it looks and feels like metal. The plastic was cracked at the end near the chuck.

Excellent roto-hammer
Needed a roto-hammer immediately that I could depend on punching a minimum of 2 dozen 5/8" x 12" holes into 50 year old poured concrete footer. I knew better than to buy the $40 throw away drills. Rental would be the same cost as buying this Hitachi with time and fuel figured in. So I ordered the Hitachi. Not only is a cool green color, amazing amazon delivered it to my door in 6 hours! The tool feels solid. It went to work right away and with the appropriate cool down time between holes, it ran all 2 dozen holes with no problems. Very glad I purchased this Hitachi!

Drilling was fine, but chiseling made it whine
Product worked great initially for both drilling into concrete and chiseling off a very small area of fragile, old-fashioned stucco. Low vibration, and effective. Then all of a sudden it felt like a gear slipped, there was grease coming out By moving from reverse to forward and back, it slipped back into gear, but something was still not right as the chisel bit did not stay locked in position. Waiting to find out on repair options.

One of the best tools I've ever purchased.
HOLY CRAP am I glad I got this. I am installing siding over concrete, so I have a LOT of holes to drill. Every time I've had to drill into concrete before it's been such a chore, pain, aggravation. This one though? Like buttah! It's so fast, so effective, it's ridiculous the difference. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND. I was literally giddy with how well this thing worked. One of the best tools I've ever purchased.Combined with the Bosch bit set https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0062I9G2W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1It was also the cheapest one that had a hammer only function and SDS+ bits. Of course that has the downside of needing to buy a separate chuck attachment to be able to use other round bits.

11/10 Drills All The Things
Makes large holes in large rocks expeditiously while still being light enough to actually wield and use. Makes a 1" by 8" deep hole in solid rock in about 3 minutes when paired with Irwin 322054. Gets pretty hot after about three of these though.Definitely more than adequate for heavy DIY jobs. Show them rocks who's boss.
