Kendal Acupressure Massage Mat for Chronic Neck Back Pain Relief (b-Mattress)

This is one of the those purchases I am so grateful to have made!I took time to search for a seller that sells the longer version of these mats because I needed to have much of my body length in contact with the spikes in one session. My feet still dangle off the end of the mat but I continue to feel AMAZING relaxation benefits after only 20 mins of lying on the mat. The spikes are not painful, perhaps just initially uncomfortable the first time you use it but stick with it, you soon learn to adjust your lying position and your skin adapts somewhat to accommodate any initial discomfort. As others have described, a few minutes into your lying/resting state you feel gentle heat in your back presumably due to increase blood flow or energy to the region? (I'm not sure of the actual physiology) but the deep almost instant relaxation state is simply amazing, I was surprised to have achieved it without much meditative 'effort'. I have been using it for just less than a week, morning and evening but I intend to update this review after long-term usage. It is true that 20 mins use will leave you in a refreshed, energised state and my mood became more happy, any sadness or gloom disappears instantly. I used it for 45 minutes before bed time and benefited from a deeper, relaxing sleep and waking up instantly, refreshed. Perhaps someone else who suffers from back ache/problems can comment on any relief from using this mat. I am in general good health and was amazed to feel lighter/younger/energised. I believe it is truly a good health investment, I purchased the pillow and mat and would personally like to thank the seller, I received the items well packed and my order was dispatched the same day.I am actually considering purchasing more as gifts for loved ones but i will try it out for longer first.

I LOVE the size of this mat. I love that it's long enough to ease my nerve/muscle pain from my neck to my calves. My previous mat was a Nayoya brand mat, and was great quality (I lost it by leaving it on an airplane). But with the previous mat, I had to do my back and legs in shifts because it wasn't long enough to do both simultaneously. This mat is great in terms of length. I also like the thickness of the foam (but it's brand new so I don't know if the foam will last long term), but my Nayoya mat was much thinner so I really needed it to be on a firm surface to work. But this mat is thick enough that I can use it on my softer bed because the foam is pretty thick and also because the points are sharper so they don't need to be on such a firm surface for it to do the trick. The only negative I have is that it's very sharp and you have to be very careful. I like the sharpness on my pain but I accidentally brushed one of my toes against the spikes when getting up and it ripped off a piece of skin and I was seriously bleeding (like through the bandaid). All these mats pose a potential grazing / cut injury but my previous mat would require much more of a swipe against it in order to break skin. This mat looks and feels like it can cut with the slightest wrong move.

The points are not as pointy as I'd like them to be. And I can tell that there is that missing strip in the middle. It's really too bad, I had high hopes!

I'm not quite sure what to say about this. I bought this as I suffer from chronic back pain and I was hoping for some relief. I wouldn't say it's made much of a difference, but maybe I need to use it more regularly. I expected it to be more painful, but it really wasn't that bad. It can be uncomfortable to sit up after laying on it, but the laying down part wasn't bad at all. I was able to lay on it without any problems for a full 30 minutes and almost ended up falling asleep immediately after opening the package. While it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference as far as my back pain goes, it definitely does leave me feeling relaxed. Almost every time I lay on it, I drift off or almost fall asleep. My husband also tried this and he found it extremely uncomfortable and had a hard time laying on it. I think it's because he kept trying to readjust himself instead of laying on it and staying still. He won't try it again after his first experience though, so I can't put my theory to the test. Overall, I like it. Not sure I would buy it again due to the fact it doesn't seem to alleviate my back pain which was my intention when I bought it, but it definitely does leave me feeling relaxed.

Points on this mat are not as sharp as another mat I have purchased in the past you can't feel it with clothes on at all

Owned a lot of similar mats. This one is not sharp enough. Try other brands. The only good thing about this one is the size. 2 stars for that.

Very good item. Reduces stress.

Poorly constructed, small annoying little pressure pointson a mat. When I laid on it I just felt annoyed by the prickly points they did not feel like any accupressure I have had. I am a big woman and wondered if there might be a weight limit for this mat and perhaps after a certain weight it doesn't work well.Very disappointed. I am sending it to my daughter and her husband who are much smaller people to see if that makes a difference however there was no mention of this and I was very disappointed.
