Quality cordless handset for a Gigaset base.
I'm using this phone in conjuction with my Gigaset DX800A base and other, older, Gigaset handpieces in my home. It linke to the base with only minimal problems, (probably my fault....I don't read instructions). Using the Gigaset-Sync software, I added photos, ringtones, and Caller ID pictures. It doesn't access the base like a couple of older Gigaset cordless handpieces, but I can listen to messages and intercom the other phones. I have not had trouble with it not ringing or with identifying numbers. I have the ring tone set to 'creshendo', a new feature the older phones don't have, that I like very much. I've downloaded all its new tones to my master Gigaset tone list on my PC (and vice versa) and now I'm using them on all my other phones base included. Using the base, I transfered all my contacts and routinely sync the phones after having added new contacts to the base. Bluetooth linked flawlessly to my headset, though I don't use this feature much as the handsfree audio quality is superb. On the flip side, no one has had trouble understanding me on their end either. It has a Nice feel in the hand being slightly heavier in the base where the two AA bateries are located. The touchscreen is responsive though as one reviewer noted, you have to get used to way the screen scrolls.I'm very happy with this addtion to my home phone system and agree with others that Gigaset makes quality phones. If necessary I would purchase another one of these without hesitation.

great hardware, crappy software
Good hardware. I am replacing the existing set of Panasonic KXT DECT phones and can attest that the quality of voice as well as the distance are exactly the same - I have compared them side by side. What really annoys me is the software - Panasonic's software that I used to transfer the address book looks and feels like it was written back in 1995. But it works. Siemens' "Gigaset QuickSync" just does not work. At all. Transferring contacts via bluetooth does not work either. Another complaint is that I could not get the number blacklisting functionality to work either. If you try to follow links on the product page and download the firmware upgrade you end up with the broken link. The only forums and discussions I could find about this phone are in German.Bottomline - if all you need is the ability to place and receive calls then this phone is great. But do not date to try the functionality beyond your 1940 rotary phone - it may not work.

High Quality Design and Performance
Former AT&T employee telling you that this is probably the highest quality phone I've purchased. Design, build, and audio performance is exemplary. Other phones (AT&T, Panasonic) simply have not matched how noise/static free this phone is. Feature rich and very stylish. Handset display very easy to read with sharp contrast, even without my reading glasses. Only complaint is touch display is not as sensitive as I would like. Otherwise perfect phone.

Just okay
It works, but not a great phone. I have 3 messages that are unerasable and it skips a couple digits often when I dial. The touch function works every 3 times. Why doesn't anyone make a high tech landline phone?

Best of the Best!
Absolutely the best wireless handset that goes with a whole system with answering machine. I've gone through many systems , this one is a keeper and a good thing too. It will last, not made in china, but made in Germany where they take electronic instruments to an art form in design and a long lasting product.

Love this device
Love this device. It has Bluetooth built in to the handset and works very well. It integrated with our current base station with not issues also. We are using a 2 year our base station 610A IP.

Awful. Don't waste your money!
TMTC.What's wrong? Too many to count. Terrible product. Missed calls - phone actually rings 1 out of every 5 calls. Caller ID sucks. Touch screen scroll is exactly the opposite of a smart phone - counter-intuitive. Could have been a gem - great concept, horrible engineering.
