Ten great things you know you can always count on in a Detective Josie Quinn novel!
Um… wow! Where to start... where to start. Okay… let’s start with the 10 great things you know you can always count on in a Detective Josie Quinn novel: (and, yes, I’m going to try this without spoiling anything)1. Lisa Regan’s writing is superb2. Your heart will race, jump, sink and cry more than once while reading3. Noah is mouthwatering… and very sweet (you have to love him for the way he loves Josie)4. Gretchen is cool5. Working in the same town you grew up in has its advantages and disadvantages6. Josie can function on little to no sleep7. Josie is a badass and so is her grandma8. Josie finds all the danger9. Josie saves the day and gets the bad guy every.damn.time.10. You will want to turn back to page one and start again once you’re finishedI think this one might be my favorite. I always say this when I finish one of these books, but I think it might be more true this time. Save Her Soul is so raw and so emotional. At one point, I had to stop reading because I couldn’t see the words through my tears. Josie is like an old friend to me now, everything that affects her, affects me—and damn—did it affect me this time. I’m torn between wanting Josie to start therapy and not wanting her to start therapy. If she solves all of her emotional problems, what will Lisa have to write about? But at the same time, I want to see her work through all those problems. Thankfully, there are more books to come!Save her Soul is absolutely superb. Knowing that Lisa Regan wrote this during a pandemic makes me love it more. It couldn’t have been easy, especially with the emotions involved. I feel like Lisa really poured her heart into this book, and it shows. In this one, we see Josie as an insecure young woman, but we also see the growth and wisdom of an old soul. Watching her fight to overcome her past, forgive a bully who tortured her in high school, and show some good solid empathy and compassion for that same bully was awe-inspiring. Seeing her grip so tightly to the few remarkable and beautiful people who supported her in her youth, and then feeling the letdown or the loss of them when new things come to light…ugh! And I can’t share it because I’ll spoil the book for you. Just know, it’s THAT GOOD. Everything about this book is so freaking good.Save Her Soul is an awe-inspiring, extraordinary read that will make you feel angry one minute and heartbroken the next. It has all the feels AND all the action you could possibly want in a summer read!

It was slow
To me, it was an okay novel, but it arrived on time and was in excellent condition. To me it moved too slow, but it held my interest and it was an interesting novel.

Cool! A new character and more personal history
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERSWell, that's a cool new family character to introduce. Let's see how Josie handles that. Maybe she'll consider therapy... finally. LOLPoor Ray is just always gonna be under suspicion, isn't he? Too bad he went from being a great friend to a real jerk in both his personal and professional life. Having a good reputation is worth gold, even after you're dead.I'm happy for Lisette. She's had a lot to deal with over her life. It's wonderful that she has so many people to call her "family" now and watch out for her, in her old age.I can't wait to see what happens with Denton's newest detective and the press liasion.Maybe one day, someone will usurp Tara. She really doesn't deserve the breaks she's gotten about all her misdeeds. One thing about the book's storyline ... the recovery from flooding was entirely too neat and quick. For example, Misty leaving so soon to go back to her house. Flood damage takes a lot of repair. Even if the homes weren't damaged, the roads and bridges were.

Nice read
I've read all the books in this series and they all create good imagery and have a decent story line.

Another Excellent Josie Quinn Adventure
Lisa Regan delivery’s another well written story about our Favorite Character, Josie Quinn. Seems Global Warming has come to Denton, PA. Section after section of their town is being flooded. They are working with water rescue and seconds after getting an elderly woman into the boat her house washes off it’s foundation. As the house floats away an object wrapped in a blue tarp rises to the surface. This is the beginning of Josie Quinn’s newest investigation into a murder that happened while she was still in High School. She learns that the person inside the tarp is an arch enemy from her HS days, Beverly, and she is wearing Ray’s letterman jacket. While finding clues to solve the murder she is also experiencing some very un-Josie like behavior. To add to her discomfort she learns that she may not be Lisette’s only grandchild, this further shakes her sense of self. However during the investigation she finds an odd sense of peace while speaking with a woman named Paige. I hope that Paige will make more appearances in the next Josie Quinn adventure. So while we wait for Lisa Regan to work her magic on the next book we can imagine Josie and Noah and Trout enjoying each other’s company.

This series is addictive!
Lisa Regan is an amazing author. I usually lose interest in a book series after about 3 or 4 books, but I am fascinated with Josie Quinn!

First Class
It's raining in Denton, the river has broken its banks, and the vulnerable citizens of the small town are at the mercy of the rising waters. Detective Josie Quinn and her team have joined the rescue effort, boyfriend Noah Fraley and colleague Mett are working together as are Josie and Grechen.Rescuing an elderly resident from the porch of her home they watch in horror as her home shifts from its foundations and disappears into the raging torrent. What happens next plunges Josie into a case linked closely to her troubled past and one of the few people she thought always had her back. With the rain refusing to ease and half the town evacuated or flooded finding information isn't straightforward but Josie has never shied away from protecting those who can't do so themselves and is determined to find the answers once again but at what cost to herself? As fans of this series are accustomed to seeing, Josie's life continues to hurtle along at a breathtaking pace in this new dual timeframe story. The devastation of her home town and the memories stirred up by her current case give more insight into what makes her tick, including some subtle hints as to where her life may go next. The whodunnit side of this book surprised me and it wasn't until the last few chapters that everything came together in a very satisfying way.I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this series or fast paced police procedurals. I have purchased all nine books because as a series this is one of the best out there and I have enjoyed every word written so far.

Will Josie Quinn ever get over her past?
Heavy rain has caused flooding in Denton. As Josie and Gretchen rescue an old lady from her house, suddenly the house crumbles in the torrential rain releasing a body, wrapped in tarpaulin, to escape in the landslide. Josie dives in the water, going against the rescuers orders not to, and pulls the tarpaulin to safety. Inside the tarpaulin they discover a young girl's body. Not any body. The young girl happened to be someone who Josie knew from her school days. A bully who had a crush on Josie's ex husband, Ray.The story finally begins as Josie and her crew find themselves in a maze of events as they try to find out who killed her? Josie begins to relive her past as the story unfolds. Will Josie ever get over her past? I hope, in Book 10, that we will see a stronger Josie who defeats all her obstacles and move on to a better life with Noah.

Josie is apparently now psychic! .
I have read all the books in this series and love them all. It was very interesting to learn more about Josie's life and the storyline, as always, was brilliant. However, one thing I did not understand was why, or how, Josie brought up a particular fact about the victim before she had been told about it by the coroner. It must have been a mistake by the author or editor and it ruined the "secret". Still, I enjoyed the book and hope there will be more in the series.

Exhausting
Lots of action and possibly heart racing enough to give the sedentary reader a heart attack. Please pace yourself. Good luck!
