Avanti Flight Bag,Red,One Size

I purchased this product because I was taking a trip to Europe and I wanted something that would hold all the carry on things I wanted to take and yet would still fit under the seat. I am short and do not like dealing with the over head bins so I prefer to have something that fits under the seat.I have been extremely pleased with this bag! It held all the necessities I needed and had room to spare. Because of all the pockets both inside and out, I was able to pack my purse and just use this as a carry all. I took my Kindle 2, my Kindle Fire, my iPod Classic), my knitting bag with a project inside (a Shawl), passport and id, all the chargers I needed, my quart bag containing my toiletries, medication I would need and many other incidentals.It is made of very sturdy material and despite being dragged through airports, planes and all over Switzerland, it looks brand new. It also has a spot in the back that can slide over the handles of a checked rolling bag which made it much easier to maneuver in the airports. There are two mesh pockets on the side that easily hold water bottles or a small umbrella. The main compartment is accessed by a large u-shaped opening with zippers on each end. That made accessing the contents very easy. There is also an outside front zippered pocket that could be has open pockets for electronics or items you need to access quickly. There are also 2 slots for pens. On the flap itself, there is a zippered compartment that is not very deep but I used it for pens and a small paper notebook.I am now using this bag as my every day work bag. It keeps everything I need in one place and I can either use the long strap (which is removable) to carry it across the body or a short handle so it can be carried like a briefcase. I sometimes ride the bus to work and this is ideal to keep everything I need safe and in one place.The only complaint I had with the strap was easily solved by reversing it so that when worn, the zippered side is next to the body. The strap is well made and has a curved, padded section that is also rubberized so it sits comfortably on your shoulder and doesn't slide around.Overall, this was a fantastic purchase and I have been thinking of ordering another one as a backup so I can use one for "play" and one for work. I can easily recommend this bag to anyone traveling or who just needs a good, all around bag for transporting things between home and work or work and school.

This is a fairly small bag but that's okay for me as when it's full it's about as heavy as I can comfortably carry through an airport now one often has to walk about a mile to the gate. When I need to carry more I take a wheeled flight bag.The bag is easy to open and pack. It's big enough for an overnight stay. The fabric is light, and flexible but looks pretty strong. I bought the bag in the red. It's not as vibrant a colour as I was expecting. Note: it is not the same shade of red as the Rick Steves tote. This was disappointing. I'd assumed the bags were toned to match each other but evidently not. I'd have liked to have known this before I bought it. I would then have chosen the black colourway.You can only carry it by the handle if you've got the top zipped up. Two handles would have been better for those occasions when you need to keep taking things out and putting them back again.It is a useful bag though and I'm glad I bought it. I don't think it'll prove to be my favourite bag though.

I travel quite often overseas and have certain criteria for a carryon bag. My small Pacsafe backpack is great for my mac AIR and cameras but it is difficult to carry a change of clothes (just incase my bags don't arrive) I have been taking a small wheeled carryon but so many of the plane connections are made out on the tarmac and a wheeled carryon doesn't work for me.The bag ends up too heavy to carry up and down stairs (hello Frankfort!) This bag will be used to clothes and a few light items. Maybe items I purchase over seas. The construction of the main compartment doesn't mean you just have to stuff clothes in the bag. You can fold them. Lots of easy to get to zip compartments. Place for phone, iPod, etc etc. There would certainly be room just to carry this bag overnight and room for a small computer, clothes, cameras and cables if you didn't mind the weight carried on your shoulder.You can carry the bag over the shoulder or over your body. Nice handle, too. I'm a senior, weight and easy to tote is essential for me when I travel. I don't like to have to rely on the "kindness of strangers" as Blanche Dubois said.One thing essential in a bag is a key ring. I thought this bag didn't have one but there is a very secure and out of the way sewn plastic ring in the bottom of the main compartment. Good colors for the conservative or sporty. Good price, well constructed, well thought out.

This bag is perfect as a carry on. It fits beneath the front seat and is therefore easily accessible during flight. Plenty of pockets for compartmentalizing items. It can be slungover the shoulder or carried like a briefcase. It is tough and durable. I used it while traveling throughout Alaska this summer, and I plan to use it again on a trip to the British Isles this fall.

I ordered this bag for a carry on piece of luggage and a daily excursion bag. It is perfect for carrying on, putting under the seat with no problem. The only comment I would like to see more pockets inside. It has plenty of room for books, IPad, or large notepad. Great over all and the pockets on the side for water bottles are plenty roomy and secure. Too big for daily excursions.

So if you ever need a simple carry-on bag, but don't want anything bulky, this is the bag for you! Its pretty cavernous in the middle and got 2 front pockets that make it really handy to put small nick-knacks in. Bottle holder on the sides and goes great with the bag you are rolling around. It also makes a great 1-night bag since it has plenty of room for an overnight trip where you don't need to bring very much!

I've owned this bag now for close to 6 years. It is my favorite travel bag of all time. Love the top pocket, easy to get into when it's under the seat in front of you. Looks like this is no longer available. Such a shame, don't know what to do if mine ever wears out!
