Marriott Exclusive Down Duvet Insert - Hotel Bed Down Comforter with Sewn-Through Box Design - King

Super comfy - I love the hotel style beds and comforters, so I found this is what they use in Marriott Hotels. A bit pricey, but worth it if you like the ones you find at hotels

Down comforter doesn’t fit the Marriott’s duvet cover and the down is extremely thick!

It is very thin, and some parts no filling at all. For this price, I expected a better one.

When I took the down comforter out of the package, it seemed very thin, but I knew it had been squished in there so I let it fluff up for a couple of days before deciding whether to return it. Although it fluffed up very nicely, I decided to return it. The comforter itself was likely worth the price - the stitching around the edges was very good, and I think it would have held up over time. BUT, the plastic packaging it came in made the blanket smell horribly. I was hoping after airing it out for a couple of days that the smell would resolve but alas, it still smelled strongly of plastic days later. I was sad to return it, as I have been very pleased with the down comforters during my Marriott stays, but this strong of a smell would have given me headaches at night. If the product was packaged differently, it would have likely been a keeper. Also, it may have gone away after more time, but my existing down comforter was out of commission and I didn't want to wait that long.Side note: I am making the assumption that the plastic packaging was what was causing this smell - if not, then there is something in the materials causing that smell which is a much worse scenario.
