Sunwheels and Siegrunen: Wiking, Nordland, Nederland and the Germanic Waffen-SS in Photographs: Volume 1

Hoping to see Volume 2 soon.
Almost 400 pages of mostly unpublished correctly captioned pictures. I find it amazing that after 70+ years, research can bring us so much new information in a book of this size. The level of information in the captions is phenomenal. Mostly uniforms & people with a few Pz. III & IV in the Caucasus chapter. Hoping to see Volume 2 soon.

Nothing short of awesome!
I can't praise this book enough, one of the two best volumes on the SS I have in my collection and I have a considerable number of books on the SS and Eastern Front. It contains 372 pages of photos, most of which I've never seen before. Mr. Rikmenspoel has done a tremendous amount of research. I'm hoping that he writes more books like this, especially one on SS Totenkopf or SS Charlemagne.

Volume 1 is a great book. Can't wait for the 2nd volume.
Great book. Worth the money. Many pics that I haven't seen before. A negative for me was that I wasn't aware that this was volume 1 of a two volume set. My interest is mainly on information about the Nederland division. Because that division was formed later in the war, most of the coverage of that division is supposed to be in the second volume. Not sure when that volume will be released. Having said that, I'm glad that I purchased this book and I would recommend it to anyone interested in the Germanic units of the SS.

many really cool never before published photos of everything from everyday life ...
Many, many really cool never before published photos of everything from everyday life of a grenadier to setup combat positions, vehicles and armor. Also portraits of personnel, ceremonies, and training. Very cool vol.1, can't wait for vol.2.

Very good photo history book with excellent photo captions.
Very good large size photo book, on a par with the various Editions Heimdal books. Most of the photo's are of very good to excellent quality, and the paper is excellent quality, nice and glossy. I think 41/2 stars would be about right, there are quite a few photo's which in my view are a bit repetitive/uninteresting such as medal presentations/parades. This is largely offset though by some excellent detailed captions with a lot of information about individuals in the photo's , which unlike some photo books, makes it a fascinating read. Some very nice action and vehicle photo's especially in the middle of the book. All in all highly recommended, and compliments rather than duplicates Charles Trang's Wiking books.

Incluye cinco mapas.

A great book
This is a great book, mostly for ww2 buffs both also for those with a broader historical interest. Both the paper and binding quality is excellent. For the text and photos there is not much more to ask for. Detailed captions for every photo and a rich and captivating text make me already wait for volume 2 in the series.
