HAAN SI-75 Power & Finesse

I purchased a Haan SI-75 to replace an 8 year old tank steam cleaner because the properly sized replacement steamer pads no longer were available. I looked forward to using the Haan due to it being an upright and the near instant steam feature. I used it for at most 5 times before the heating element that converted water to steam failed.When I phoned Haan, they claimed I had not registered my warranty, something I routinely do for all purchases via the internet. Strange that all the time I have owned the unit I was receiving weekly email ads from Haan. In any event, I faxed Haan my purchase documents from Amazon. After two more phone calls, over the next week, they acknowledged receiving my documents, further that I would be sent a new replacement SI-75 unit once I had sent them the failed unit. I asked if I could just send them the defective section instead of having to package up and ship off the entire unit. The rep advised that I would have to send everything at my expense.First, I was unable to find and purchase a carton of the proper proportions even after disassembling the unit. I was referred to the local UPS store. While the cost of packaging it by the UPS store was a reasonable price of $15, the charge to ship the unit from California to Pennsylvania via the least expensive mode which is USP Ground would have been nearly $57. So, the total cost to return a unit that originally cost $140 would have been nearly $72. The USP worker suggested that in view of the high cost that I request a prepaid shipper from Haan.When I called Haan and advised the warranty rep of the prohibitively high shipping cost situation, he advised that he would request approval from their "corporate office" to send me a shipper. I have made a total of 5 phone calls to Haan, the most recent one a week ago when I was advised that they were still waiting "corporate approval" which has never come.Based upon my experience with Haan, their 12 month warranty is useless as the requirement to return the entire unit and the cost of doing same is far too expensive in view of the original purchase price. If you read the reviews here on Amazon for the SI-75, including this review, there are a total of 58 reviews of which 18 have only ONE STAR. That is over a 32% level of horrible reviews. In other words, nearly 1/3 of those purchasing this product have rated it an I HATE IT experience by Amazon's own definition of a One Star rating.Ask yourself when was the last time you purchased a product when nearly 1/3 of those who did purchase it rated it only One out of a possible Five stars, a rating which is defined by Amazon as I HATE IT.

I bought this steam mop last August, and it quit steaming in February. Then I found out I had to PAY to send it back to the manufacturer, which I did because it was too expensive to not get a replacement. HAAN Customer Service promised me a replacement mop of the same make and model. I mailed it to HAAN in Georgia in the beginning of April, and on April 16th I got an email back stating my replacement had been processed and to expect 7-10 days for delivery. That was nearly two months ago now, and still no mop. I've emailed Haan several times, I've called their customer service (only get a voicemail), and no response back. I am completely frustrated with this company and product - first because it broke before barely six months had passed and then because of the horrible experience with customer service.The mop itself worked really well, until it broke, that is.

It was working fine until after almost two years from purchase it died - stopped generating steam. My husband figured out that heating element went down and tried to order it to have it replaced. He was told these kind of parts are not for sale. Great business model HAAN has - do not fix anything, just buy everything new. Thank you, but no.I can not recommend this manufacturer because when their product will fail, they will not sell you parts for it.

Though I frequently read Amazon reviews, I've never written one before. I had to write one about this product. I bought this steam cleaner hoping it would help clean the grout in my kitchen floor. I also planned to use it to clean the rest of the tile floors. The floor is very hard to clean. I've never been happy with how it looks. I debated for a long time whether to get this model or a different HAAN model. I liked the versatility of the SI-75 but was skeptical that it would do a good job both as a steam mop and handheld steamer. Its reviews were so so as well. I hoped it would help clean the grout but didn't have high expectations. Well, I decided to go ahead and buy it, and I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I was so thrilled with a purchase. It does a fantastic job. I used the handheld with the brush attachment on the grout. I still can't get over how great it turned out. It also doesn't take forever to do. Marks came off the floor that I thought were permanent, and quickly. The steam mop works great as well. This steamer is very easy to use, versatile, and does an excellent job. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

this steamer works well but I have had 2 now and neither one of them held up for long. the first one I bought only lasted about 1 year. since I liked the way it cleaned I thought I would try another one. the second one did not last long at all before the water container would not stay in the compartment. it would fall out while using. I definitely do not recommend. for the price they charge, it should hold up much longer.

Bought this originally for my SIL and she loved it so much I bought myself one. Heats up fast and is super easy to use. Perfect compliment to non-carpeted floors (especially with kids/dogs)! Love that you can also used handheld and on carpet/rugs with attachments!

Great steamer! Really cleans my wood floors without a lot of struggle as I had before. Before I got this I had regular wood floor dry mops and used spray bottles of water and white vinegar on my floors. If one of the kids spilled something on the floor in the kitchen it took forever to get it up. This steamer does the job easily and quickly. Floors look great. I like it lots.
