The best thing for dog poop.
I have tried many things to keep dog poop out of my yard. Most of which is following my dog with a bag and feeling it smoosh under my hands, praying that the bag holds. While effective, it creates a lot of plastic waste and gets expensive fast. Also, sometimes you don't want to follow fido out in the rain or snow, and then have to walk around with a handful of bags to find the missing stinky nuggets.I have tried cheaper rakes that feel like they want to fall apart as soon as you touch them. I have cumbersomely used shovels as the turds roll right off as soon as you try to grab more. And I have tried the grabber scoopers that effectively smash the forbidden truffles into its teeth and mechanisms resulting in a stinky, and time consuming trip to the hose. Once again not very convenient in the snow.Thats when I thought "Hey! How do they clean up after livestock?", and I found this golden egg of a tool. Yes you can find it cheaper on their website, but after shipping costs, wait times, and ease of returns if I didn't like it, I ordered through amazon.Set up is easy. Take the rake head out of the box, and secure it to the handle with a provided screw/bolt. I had no issues lining up the holes, or cross threading. Now I have 2 dogs. A rottweiler pitbull mix that takes decent size dumpers, and a jack russell mix that takes not so decent size dumps. Other rakes I have used in the past have let the smaller stink nuggets pass through the times while scooping up the bigger butt chocolates. Not this thing! It picks up everything no issue! The tines are a stiff, tough plastic that cuts through the grass and other substrate to pluck the poop without issue. I have had no issues with sticking, or it stabbing the poop either. Also with it being plastic I don't have to worry about rusting. The handle (wood) is smooth and feels decent. Hopefully it holds up. It has been left outside and shows no sign of rotting or swelling. This winter is going to be the real test to see if this can sift through the snow, or if it will become a shovel itself. The "basket" is also deep enough to hold a good amount of turdage without them spilling out every time you try to pick up more.Overall you can't beat this thing. I highly recommend to anyone trying to keep their yard clean, as well as I am sure it would work for livestock as it was probably intended.

I have horses but I purchased it for my dogs!
I have a horse farm with equines ranging from fairly massive to minis, and while you might assume that I was looking for a small manure fork for my minis, nope. I've been on the hunt for a small manure fork for picking up after my dogs. Every other "tool" out there for yard clean up gets tangled in grass, doesn't pick up all of the waste neatly, or is otherwise lacking in this seemingly simple task. I've used a full sized manure fork to do this forever, but the issue with that is that my dogs aren't huge - we have a 50 pound Aussie and a 40 pound Border Collie - and a lot of things slip through the tines. However, the size of this fork is PERFECT for cleaning up after my pups, and the basket allows me to do the yard in one sweep, with all kinds of room left over, while keeping it all contained. It's the best pooper scooper in the history of ever, and my only regret is that I didn't purchase one sooner!

Breaks too easily
After trying friends full size fork, I purchased the smaller fork because the full size one is too heavy. The size was perfect. After one week of use, the horizontal piece broke. Dover replaced it for me. Last night, the replacement broke the same way. That is after 4.5 months of use. These forks are just not strong enough to hold up to cleaning stalls. They are too expensive to break this easily. I bought this fork to replace a 4 year old fork that was stolen. I am careful with my forks, and never break them.I liked this fork because it did take more fine manure pieces out. I did find the angle required to use it was awkward at first, but I learned how to use it quickly. This fork did not pick the hay up off the stall floor easily. I could only get a little at a time. I found even with the smaller fork that I had to shake and shake AND shake to save the clean shavings, dropping a lot of manure in the process. So I either had to sift that pile of shavings again or waste more clean shavings.

We have been using the Fine Tine Pitch Fork for over a year and it ...
I was doing chores for a friend of mine - he has sheep and had one of these and it worked well for scooping up pellets so I thought I would try one with my horse. We have been using the Fine Tine Pitch Fork for over a year and it works great -- especially if my wife is running it! It is strong enough for me and light enough for her. No tines have broken, poo does not fall through the cracks but dirt does.

Good product but hard to attach handle.
This was exactly what I wanted. The tines work effectively for cleaning up manure from my mini horse and donkey. However it was not easy to attach the handle. The screw hole did not line up and I had to enlarge the hole to get it attached.

Perfect for picking up chicken manure and pine shavings-- chickens approve!!!
I got this for helping me to muck out the coop and it picks up chicken poop and pine shavings like a charm. The smaller size of the fork fits into the coop nicely and makes cleaning a breeze. The tines are a bit closer together than some other brands, so it holds everything pretty well. I also use this for cleaning out the run and we compost our chicken waste. I'm a 5'1" lady and I was worried the handle might be too long but it's actually just fine, plus it's very light because of the wood handle and plastic fork. Remember to just use it as intended because the weak plastic tines will break under abuse-- you might want to get a heavier duty product if you're thinking about moving heavy manure such as cow or horse. Be sure to not leave it out in the rain because the wood will rot! We keep ours indoors and clean it off after each use. Our chickens are very happy with their clean coop, and I'm happy with this product! :D

Works well but doesn't last
I like the fine tines for picking up smaller pieces of horse poo that fall through the regular tines but these don't las6t. I usually have to replace every 6 or 8 months. I'm not particularly hard on equipment and I only have 2 horses but the plastic tines just end up breaking over time.
